Having followed the clues correctly the group finally approached a Dead Rat outpost. Between the party and the wererat thieves a solid portcullis barred the way. The 'Rats' were alerted to the groups arrival and used the gate for effective cover as they pelted Alek with ranged attacks. Furakus charged and smashed through the gate creating an opening for the rest of his team.
Once faced with a fair fight the gang were quickly dispatched. Before the last wererat was bloodied though he managed to release a hatch allowing a torrent of water to wash the group down into the deep sewers.
Once the party managed to escape the rushing waters and regroup they found themselves in a series of natural caverns. The entirity of the chamber was in a few inches of water and split by a huge crevasse. From this deepening darkness the occasional hint of movement appeared.
While exploring the group found a series of skeletons, bones polished clean, spread out around the chamber. Each body had an amulet mixed in with the bones in the shape of a Kraken. As the first of these amulets were gathered numerous inky black tentacles erupted from the crevasse. In addition to the kraken's tentacles the group found the cavern home to a few gray oozes which made their best attempt at engulfing and digesting our heroes whole.
The amulets seemed to provide some level of protection from the Kraken, and thus a mad rush to gather as many of these precious heirlooms as possible occurred. With clever use of placement, amulets, and a little luck the heroes managed to reach the far end of the cavern in one piece. It was here they came face to face with the Nashers.
The Nashers, a sect of the Sons of Alagondar, chose to speak with the heroes rather than raise weapons. Soon our heroes learned that the Lost Heir, who had been working with the Sons since his reappearance, was becoming more violent and relying more on the Dead Rats to carry out his plans. The plans themselves were raising some objections among the Sons of Alagondar who thought their goals too draconian. They hoped these heroes, who had disrupted a Dead Rats warren, could talk some sense into the Heir who had only days ago labeled them all as allies.
