Welcome to the world of Living Forgotten Realms! Here is some information from the Wizards website, modified for our gaming group:

What is Living Forgotten Realms?

Living Forgotten Realms (or LFR for short) is a new regionalized RPGA Living campaign, and the first to utilize the new 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons rules. Players create characters and assign them to a specific region set in the Forgotten Realms. Characters can be played in any LFR adventure that supports their levels of play, anywhere. All non-special LFR adventures will be available for play no matter where you live in the world. As your character plays adventures, it earns experience points, gold, and magic items which stay with you from game to game.

What Do I Need to Play?

In order to participate in the Living Forgotten Realms campaign, you’ll need the same things you’d need for any other D&D game (Player’s Handbook, dice, character sheet), plus a few other things.

You’ll need to get an RPGA number to play, as this will track your play officially and allow you to earn RPGA Rewards points. When you come to your first LFR game with the Central NJ Gaming Group, we will give you an RPGA card.

If you are a new player, we can help you build your character, or give you a premade character to try out. We can even lend you some dice for your first session.

We play every Tuesday at 7pm (but you should be there between 6:30 and 6:45 so we can ready assign people to tables).

How do I gain Experience and Treasure?

All adventures in the Living Forgotten Realms system follow the same play guidelines- which makes it a worldwide campaign. You can take any experience or treasure you earned at our table and bring it to any other location or judge that is running a LFR adventure. Similarly, experience earned at any other LFR game is recognized in our game- at the end of each 4 hour session, we will give you some treasure and the experience you earned, and you keep track of it yourself.

Where can I read more about Living Forgotten Realms?

First, be sure to check the official Living Forgotten Realms website. You can also read the RPGA Character Creation Guidelines to help make your character, and you can join the Living Forgotten Realms Community Group. Of course you can always look at the many resources we have on our website- including the Character Creation Help Guide, or Azerin’s Guide to the Realms, or look at a list of what we are playing on our Meetup calendar.
