I am interested in finding a good way to keep DM notes. My group plays online, using Skype and MapTool
. We also use pbWorks wiki's to keep character sheets, journals and all other (player) notes related to the campaign. I'm about to start my own campaign with this group and need to find a good way to organize my thoughts.
I need a solution which is accessible from multiple computers and also private from the players. I've all but decided on creating a second, DM-only, wiki. I will put links to the DM wiki in the Player wiki (and vice versa I suppose) where I have related material. For example, I have a page on the Player wiki describing one of the main kingdom's in the world. There is a lot of info about the King that is not known to the Players, so I will put a link to the King's page in the DM wiki on the Kingdom's page in the player wiki. (I would do it all within the same wiki, except pbWorks does not support by-page security in the free version).
Does anyone have other ways of doing it?
Also, does anyone have an online way of handling character sheets? I'm thinking of using a Google Docs spreadsheet. Is anyone aware of existing templates? I'd like to get one that is capable of being used to create characters relatively easily (including calculating the relevant stats). Or perhaps there is another (official?) character generator I could use, and then just copy the info onto a wiki page.
