Hello,
I have been playing D&D for a few years, but have never DM. The group I am gaming with plays 3.5 and 4e we just got done playing a yearlong campaign in 3.5 and the person who has been DMing wants to take a break from DMing. So I said I would give it a try. I don’t have a lot of free time to do a lot of prep work so the old DM suggested I look at running “Scales of War” or “The Chaos Scar” campaign. So I guess I would like some input on which is the better campaign ?
Hey everyone!
I'm very new to 4e. In fact I'm still waiting for the Core Books to arrive in the mail! lol. I can't wait to read through and DM/play my first game with 4e. I put a post in the forums about what products to buy in the future and I got some very helpful replies. Next purchase will be monster vault. I also learned how to make my own pogs and setup a graph with plexi-glass for adventuring.
Any tips for a beginner DM would be most appreciated. Also any tips on where to look for players to play with. I know to look at the local hobby store, but maybe there's...
I've been using tokens from the monster vault to represent my players and monsters of course for combat, but i really would like to get some minis and most of the d&d minis i like are not sold at my game store and online seems hard to find. So wondering if anyone out their has some good sites that they use to order minis if so please let me know thanks in advance.
Hi new to the whole DMing thing just started up a dark sun game. Not a lot of love for 4th around the game store i'm running it at but doing alright so far. Just thought i say hi and if anyone out there has had a lot of success with dark sun or any good sources other then the two dark sun books out right now.
Afternoon, Ladies and Gents.
Just when I was looking for some new DM resources, this group popped up in front of me, how lucky! I'm starting my first campaign with some old buds of mine, first time as a DM and in a campaign setting of my own devising. I'll probably be scouting around to try and find some information on setting up a fully-fleshed out encounter (meaning monsters to fight, puzzles to solve, traps to evade, etc, working together) to keep my game from becoming dull or repetitive. Hopefully, with future blog posts about what works and such, I can help you guys...

I am working on understanding the rules more in depth. I understand most of the basic rules but i am working on getting moree aquainted with the rules. I play 3.5e. I am looking for any sort of DM tips and ideas for low level encounters/quests/dungeons starting at level one. My group will be from 4 to 5 people. If i could get some tips for map creation or...
