If you really want to go low tech (no laptop) I'd recommend the following: This has a handy combat reference sheet on this page. You can find a link on that page (and elsewhere), but I highly recommend getting basic power cards also printed up fo

    Fumble

    Last Post By: hjs102

Generally I let them reroll if they have a power that let's them do so. However, if they still fail with the reroll they still take the penaly for the fumble. That way fumbles still pose a danger to them even though they can reroll it, but it does al

I just bought a colorprinter for 400 DKK... It's about 80$(But it's also about 40% taxes in this damn country), but I saw some of same quality to about half of that... The one I chose is a lot faster, hence the price... But it prints out normal A4 pa

Deschain made some great points. I'm also in the camp of not running a PC while I DM. The story focus, decisions, and actions should be on the player end. It'll be bad if your guy starts to outshine the group, and worse if the group sees the characte

Hi i am trying to start regular dnd games with my freinds, but i was wondering if i could have any ideas to make the game more enjoyable for them. I already have the 3 core rule books but i do need some help. Should i start with a pre published adventure and add my own things onto it or should i try to make my own world? I don't have the money for minis how could i do combat without them?
I also have a problem everyone wants to be a striker and no one wants to do any thing else. I even have a fighter who refuses to go 1 handed. So those are my questions plese respond.

Does anyone use a fumble rule and if so how do you conduct it concerning magic?

I'm not new to DMing, I've been playing D&D and acting as Dungeon Master for about... 7 years now? But I think that a group like this still has a lot to offer to anybody who wants to run a great game of D&D. :)

I look forward to reading tips as well as getting help for my various D&D campaigns. And I'll happily offer some advice where I feel I can as well. :D

I have a couple of questions i would like help with. First, if a character has multiple ongoing effects (say 3 ongoing 5 fire damage), does one save stop them all or do they have to roll 3 times and can they roll for all three at the end of the round? Second, when using the DMG to create an encounter I was looking at the Dragons den encounter and it said that a hard encounter would be an n+3 solo for a 5 person party. I have 5 7th level characters, but pitting them against a level 9 solo (bloodkiss beholder) would be lambs to the slaughter. they would not last more than 10 rounds. Am I missing something. We have an invoker, a warrior, a wizard, a rougue (ranged attacks), and a warlock.
