So my friends and I decided to start playing a long running campaign and it will be in my favorite setting...Eberron! So my Dm and i sit down to plan out a good flow for the campaign and decide to use the published adventures to start it out and give a real good feeling for the setting for the people who are less knowledgeable of the setting.
So the cast
Xael-valenar ranger
Vanguard-warforged knight
Mender-warforged artificer
Axe-warforged fighter
So we start our adventure with the forgotten forge,we begin the adventure walking across the bridges of Sharn searching for employment opportunities, when we spot a dark figure leaping over the edge of the bridge so we naturally run to investigate. When we arrive at the location we see a man laying face down in the rain blood pooling under his still warm body, as we inspect the poor man a dark cloaked figure leaps over the railing and attacks Mender and scores a mighty blow on him before the group can even react to the new threat.
We compose our self quickly and assume battle formations the knight getting the enemy's attention with Axe coming up to the assailant's right with Xael attacking from the left. A heavy blow from Axe rips the man's cloak and cuts a large gash in his chest revealing he is actually no man at all but a warfoged. The warforged screams out "DIE TRAITOROUS SCUM" and a swings at Axe but is deflected by a quick parry of his waraxe. Axe kicks out at the warforged but he dodges quickly to the left and lands a telling blow on axe's knee. While he is distracted by Axe Xael slips his scimitar through the warforge's defense and into his soft live wood interior to silence the hostile warforged.
All the while a crowd of citizens gathers on the bridge opposite of our group screaming out for the fighting to stop and threaten the guard is coming. Moments after the group dispatches of the assassin and Mender repairs himself with his artificer skills three armored humans approach from the end of the bridge, there shields emblazoned with the symbol of the city watch. A gruff man with a flaming red beard walks in the lead of the group and demands an explanation of what is going on. After some skillful talking from Vanguard and a testimony from the witnesses the man apologizes for his attitude but says the situation appeared far different than it was and introduces himself as Dolom and says that the guard could use more people like the group on the side of the city watch and offers his assistance in any way he can and picks up a satchel sitting next to the assassinated man and says he appears to be a a messenger for house cannith and the bag probably has some important house business material in it and he will make sure it is taken care of.
The adventuring group make there way after there talk with Dolom to the ever-bright tankard to rest and to meet with there contact who brings them work and information of note. The jolly dwarf eventually finds his way into the tavern to inform the group that there is no business worth there time and apologizes, but says that there is quite a buzz about them on the streets and there antics with the assassin so he thinks that very soon work will come to them instead of there never ending search for work continuing the way it has. The rest of the night goes by uneventful with the group exchanging war stories and relaxing in the heat of the main room.
That morning a messenger bearing the mark of house Cannith awaits them in the main room....
