The event decks in general are designed for newer players to be able to access the tournament scene more easily. They provide a deck which is powerful enough to win some games at Friday Night Magic whilst offering plenty of room for players to improve and adapt the deck.  Each deck comes with a rules sheet which will be informative for new players. I have had a good year so far, winning GP Lille earlier in the year and top 16 at GP Manchester and top 50 at PT Barcelona; I also came 11th at PT Valencia some years ago. The latest offering in multiplayer Magic: The Gathering is released today with four new Planechase decks.
