I have been somewhat unwell for the past couple of weeks. A fairly nasty bout of flu turned into pneumonia and a persistent cough that has dogged me ever since. It's made me sound like I've smoked 60 a day since Francis Drake introduced tobacco to England.

I've not been in the mood for anything much except bodging around Skyrim [Can you say Skyrim here? –ed.] for a general want of sleep and energy. All progress on the Scales of War has ground to a halt along with much of my life.

Anyway, I switch the laptop on and find the usual magical message about a Flash update. These things puzzle me because I'm never actually online when I get the message, and if such knowledge was delivered when I was last online, why has the update not also been silently downloaded, thus obviating the need
