It is a land filled with mystery, danger, adventure, and the promise of knowledge and riches worthy of the gods. It was a land that Mordrim needed to discover, but not on his own.
The only aspect of Mordrim's soul that burns more intensely than his thirst for knowledge and adventure, is his wisdom. He knows that it is a land filled with danger, deception, and death. It is a land that no adventurer can survive on their own. Therefore, Mordrim knows that while his staff and adventurers pack is ready, as it has been for some time now, he still has to find the most important key to his success, and his survival. He needs companions.
In the small vale that Mordrim calls home, adventuring companions are few and far between. Surrounded by the larger settlement of Saratoga to the North, and the City of Albany to the South, one would think that companions would be as easy to find as hungry halflings, but that is not the case. Mordrim has exhausted his network of contacts in Ballston Lake and now must set out in search of the people with whom he will entrust his success and most importantly his life.
Mordrim has sent a messenger to the Meetup.com guild in Saratoga. Rumor has it that a band of adventurers had gathered there to organize a campaign to adventure out, but that the group had never left the inn. Perhaps the addition of a wizard could persuade the group to take up the bedrolls and packs.
Through a trusted friend of Mordrim's he was able to get a request for brave souls drawn up by the land's most well known scribe, Craig List. Just this morning, a brave, or perhaps foolish soul, has answered the call and asked Mordrim if he could join the group. Mordrim basks in the glow of his first success but knows that it is only the first step on the winding and dangerous raod that lays before him.
In the coming days Mordrim will journey to a few small towns in the area and visit the libraries where people gather to read the prolific writings of the great sages such as Mearls, Slavicsek, and Wyatt. Here Mordrim will leave his post offering the opportunities for great adventure and treasure to anyone willing to accompany him. The greatest test that Mordrim has face to date is the test of patience that he has to endure while waiting for that prophesied day in which he will leave the vale of Ballston Lake and set forth into the world.
Until then, he will continue his studies and preparation.....
