If you used Tweet Magic to enhance your multiplayer game between July 30th and August 1st, please let us know what you thought about it.

I got some friends together last night to take advantage of the tweets while they were still happening. We ended up playing EDH (because that was all two players had with them) but the tweets still managed to be fairly relevant.
The basic rules are well-designed - giving players a planeswalker totem was a fun and flavorful way to divide up effects. (I pulled a set of foil planeswalkers out of my cube to use as markers, just for fun.) I certainly wouldn't mind Wizards putting the effects up in some sort of random generator, like an "official" online chaos table.
Using twitter was a cool gimmick and we got some fun out of it, but it wasn't terribly convenient overrall. It's weird having things like how long a turn takes drastically effect the game, especially when people pause to grab drinks and the like, and refreshing twitter every two minutes got old fast.
All in all, it was a fun experience that could be adapted to an online game resource, but probably doesn't need to be repeated in its current form.
Best part of the evening's discussion: "Tweets are colorless and have no type, so protection doesn't apply." "Except for Progenitus, who has protection from tweets."

I didn't discover it until after everyone I could have played with went to bed. But I did enjoy reading it and imagining how it'd play out. I'm considering collecting it into a randomizer for future use, too.
Also, "protection from tweets" made me laugh far too much, ObsidianDice.

It was fun, but the abilities were really powerful. People would just slow down their turns and wait for a Tweet to save them. After it switched from a tweet per minute to per five, it was a lot better.
Also, we applied the rule of Planechase where you have to spend mana to check it. First per turn is free, then 1 mana, then 2, at sorcery speed. This kept people from checking it non stop every few seconds to see if a wrath effect would save them in the middle of combat.

It was alot of fun. It seemed like you guys were watching our game & screwing with us. It made a normal EDH game last twice as long. I would suggest to try to make sure you do not have an effect for the same team in a row. For instance sometimes Lliana's team got something good x2 in a row & that made for bad beats for the rest of us. Obv you could do that for Ajani but not the rest of them! :P I thought you guys could easily do something like this for MTGO or even make a Planeschase format with these effects printed on the card. You could even make some type of Vanguard cards of each of the 5 teams. The tweet thing was genius. I actually promised myself I would never sign up for twitter. Well um... never say never. I would have liked to seen a variety of more effects. The ones we had although good seemed to repeat themselves. thanks for keeping MTG great!!!
