Sealed Deck Queue Changes
We are always looking for ways to improve Magic Online and the tournaments we offer. Sometimes this includes offering new play experiences, changing existing tournaments or both. After changes are made, we always measure the impact, both with player feedback and internal metrics. After reviewing public feedback and evaluating the performance of the Phantom Sealed Deck Queues changes we made in December, we are making a couple changes.

First, we are reducing the entry requirement for the Phantom Sealed Deck Queues and adjusting the prize structure appropriately. Going forward, Phantom Sealed Deck Queues will only require 4 Event Tickets to enter. This further reduces entry for players looking for a Sealed Deck experience without regard to collection building. Full details are below.

Phantom Sealed Deck Queues
START TIMES: On demand starting after the downtime on Wednesday, January 9.
LOCATION: Limited Queues room.
ENTRY OPTION(S): 4 Event Tickets.
PRODUCT: Magic Online will provide 6 Phantom booster packs of the appropriate set. Cards that players open and play with in a Phantom event are NOT added to those players' collections.
SIZE: 8 Players.
DURATION: 3 round, Swiss pairings.
PRIZES: Prizes are based on the total Match Points at the end of the tournament. Each match win awards 3 points and each match loss awards 0 points.

Second, we will be adding additional non-Phantom Sealed Deck Queues for players who enjoy using sealed play to build their collections. These tournaments have the standard array of entry options, including only Event Tickets, booster packs and Event Tickets, or Sealed Event Packs, and prizes and the cards played with will be added to collections when the event has concluded.

ENTRY OPTION(S): 26 Event Tickets OR 1 Sealed Event Pack OR 2 Event Tickets and 6 booster packs.
PRODUCT: 6 booster packs of the appropriate set.
SIZE: 8 Players.
DURATION: 3 round, Swiss pairings.
PRIZES: Prizes are based on the total Match Points at the end of the tournament. Each match win awards 3 points and each match loss awards 0 points.
