Play in the Dragon's Maze Release Events Now!
Dragon's Maze Release events are up and running and with product in the Magic Online Store, make sure you don't miss out on any of the Release event fun! Dragon's Maze Release events consist of five parts:

  • Return to Ravnica Block and Dragon's Maze Booster Draft Queues (Live Now!)
  • Dragon's Maze 16-player Sealed Deck Queues (Live Now!)
  • Dragon's Maze 64-Player Top 8 Premier Drafts (beginning May 17)
  • Dragon's Maze Top 8 Sealed Deck Events (beginning May 17)
  • Dragon's Maze Release Events Championship (June 1)

Magic Online Championship Series Season 5 Preliminaries
MOCS Season 5 ends with tomorrow's downtime so only hours remain to earn the 15 QP's needed to compete in the Season 5 Preliminaries this Friday and Saturday. It's also your last chance to qualify for the Mind's Eye promo card. Preliminaries will be available in the Scheduled Events room after the downtime tomorrow. Preliminaries are Return to Ravnica Block Constructed and run at 6:00 PM on Friday and 6:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 6:00 PM on Saturday.

Downtime Notes for May 15, 2013
The system will go into "No Pay" at 5:00 AM.
Store and trades will shut off at approximately 7:45 AM.
The system will be down from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
This downtime is expected to last approximately 2 hours.
This downtime contains a build with a bug fix.

General:

  • Added: MOCS Season 5 promo card distribution.
  • Fixed: Commander games will no longer end when the first player is eliminated.

Multiplayer Commander Games Issue Unfortunately after our deployment today there is a bug in multiplayer Commander games that prevents them from completing correctly. As soon as one player is eliminated, the game ends in a draw for the rest of the players. This issue only affects multiplayer Commander games, and does not impact 2-player Commander or other multiplayer formats.

We are investigating a fix right now, but unfortunately it will not be completed, tested, and deployed until next week's downtime. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Dragon's Maze Prerelease Events Start Thursday
Guild Marks for the Prerelease are on sale tomorrow at 1:00 PM in the Magic Online store. Dragon's Maze Prerelease events start at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, and run throughout the weekend. Dragon’s Maze will be available in the store and the Release Events will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 13. Check out all the events here.

MOCS Season 6 Starts Next Week!
MOCS Season 6 starts with the downtime next week, which means you only have until then to earn your Season 5 promo card. Don't miss out! MOCS Season 6 runs from May 15 until June 12. The format for the Preliminaries and Finals will be Modern Masters Sealed. Season 6's promo card is an alternative art Cryptborn Horror.

Commander Changes
After tomorrow's downtime, Commander will be treated solely as a format and not as a Play Structure. What does that mean? Well, starting tomorrow the Play Structure "Commander Duel" will be removed and creating Commander matches will be the same as Standard or Modern. Just choose your format and how many players and go! This change also means that players will be able to create 2-player Commander matches in the Wide Beta as well.

Downtime Notes for May 8, 2013
The system will go into "No Pay" at 5:00 AM.
Store and trades will shut off at approximately 7:45 AM.
The system will be down from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, noon.
This downtime is expected to last approximately 4 hours.
This downtime will contain the Dragon's Maze Card Set Build.

  • Fixed: "Game Already Active" pop-up issue
  • Updated: Dragon's Maze added to appropriate constructed formats
  • Updated: Commander format and play structure updates

Card Rules:

  • Fixed: When using Soul Ransom, Thragtusk's beast token enters the battlefield under the correct players control.
  • Fixed: Dimir Charm's third ability now correctly prompts players to place a card on the top of their opponent's library
  • Fixed: Appetite for Brains now shows the revealed cards in the Game Log
  • Fixed: Braids, Conjurer Adept can no longer put planeswalkers onto the battlefield
  • Fixed: Issue with Rhox Faithmender's life gain ability when interacting with Killing Wave

Wide Beta Updates:

General

  • Fixed: Crash navigating the game client while foil animation is on (May 3 update)
  • Fixed: Crash when opening details of a game or tournament (May 3 update)
  • Fixed: Several crashes with themes, filters, and joining games

  • Fixed: Issue where players cannot select a legal deck if it was formerly illegal during the same session (May 3 update)

  • Fixed: Issue that prevented Featured and Scheduled events from displaying correctly
  • Fixed: Issue causing temporary zones to be unclickable
  • Fixed: Issue that caused chat alerts to display while the chat is docked
