We can always add 3.5 ed and 4.0 ed to make 5.0 Ed.
There some good qualities both editions. I like some of the hooks, rumors, and plots in the 3.5 edition. Especially when it comes to points of interest.
As for the 4.0 edition I love the alignment system and class development. I admit I was wrong about the gods for the clerics it is easier.
I would like to see all the positives of both editions to make the 5th.

The fact is NWN2 has a lot of bugs in that I been tested once I get the codes and will fix it. My new job is to test software. I dislike the notion of sending jobs overseas in bent to make products cheaper. Yeah they are made cheaper the quality of the software for the game is downhill and the glitches are great. Nothing irritates gamers is bad software that is glitchy. Unless you like to uh fix software. LOL

It varies widely enough that I'm not sure what the average would be. Some of my characters have been professionals, like my current FR halfling that works as a troubleshooter and thief as a cover for being a covert agent working for Myth Drannor and Cormyr against Netheril. He's "adventuring" most of the time.
Other characters adventure because they have to, or otherwise do it only so often, every couple months or so. My Eberron character that was a dragonmarked member of House Tharashk,...

I don't actually think even pirates are adventurers, or the conquistadors. They both have a physical goal in mind (treasure, or land).
Adventurers are more like the crew of Serenity - a band of people who cannot function in normal society, and wander around trying to making a living with their specialized skill set.

The point even with the new developments either rpg games or even in card games.
"You can only please some of the people some of the time. But never please all the people all the time."
I don't like super powered insanely mega characters they are no fun to play with.
