Due to various circumstances, I had to do a flashfoward in my very first campaign. It was more of a learning experience for me than anything else, and I love the memories that came with it. I decided then to have the campaign help set the mood and world for the 2nd campaign I recently started, whereas it was the original world now polished up and 10+ years after Torog's death and freedom. I think ending campaigns is bittersweet. I have a question, out of all the possible main plot arcs to...

I have a question, out of all the possible main plot arcs to come up with, how do you know which ones are the ones you should use?

Yeah ok, that trumps my lot with spades! However they do try to extort every last copper out of a prospective employer, and the eladrin mage is the worst of the bunch. Funny thing is that the dragonborn paladin doesn't raise so much as an eyebrow at these high jinks.

This raises another question; should the characters in a game of heroic fantasy be paragons of virtue? Or should they be just as frail morally, as any one else?

Mr. Perkins, given your "under-prepare, then improvise" philosophy, how do you feel about adventure paths, such as "Scales of War?" Since a successful adventure path requires certain outcomes, how do you deal with PCs that die off or players who kill NPCs needed in later arcs? Do you limit player options or do you just throw, at some point, the adventure path out the window and run a campaign in the adventure path setting without the adventure path.
I've got Gimp, but have never actually used it, I got it originally when I was going to use it when doing modding to Rome : Total War for a big mod project, but never actually got onto it. Be neat to see that tutorial, no rush though :) Cheers.
Sounds like an awesome encounter. I'd have no problem setting Materials and Mentals against my groups (and they can attest to that hehe), but I was cautious not to go too far with the Clobbermob's immunity. I figured I'd try and give a taste of the old school flavor, but not make it too frustrating for a casual group. If it can serve as a base for other DMs to tailor to their style or difficulty, though, then I count it a total success.
These are great. My favorite minion I've made was a simple ice archon attendant minion that deal a tiny amount of cold damage in a burst when it died, but more importantly it made all the ground within a burst 1 of it into icy terrain. Gotta love a minion that can make the floor slippery when it dies. There's nothing that makes an encounter more fun than a lot of heroes falling down.
