Oh nostalgia, how I enjoy thee.
Forty miles from Essembra lies the hamlet of Pilgrims Rest. Being a port on the River Ashaba there are two main ways for an adventurer to arrive in town. The first way is by any shallow vessel plying their trade along the river. The docks are ready to take cargo or people at all hours. Since the flooding of the mines the town main export is food goods from the locale farm fields. It imports products from throughout the region. The latest import, much to the annoyance of the city guard, is adventurers who want to explore the ruins of Lye’nost. The other way to arrive into town is by foot. A dirt road leads to the town’s main gate. Unlike the docks, the gate is closed at night and manned by guards. A common saying by traveling merchants “You can’t go to the jakes’ without the churches permission,” describes Pilgrims Rest local authority. The hamlet has only one church which is built in a hillside. A converted cave entrances greets a being to what the locales call the Granary. This temple is dedicated to the goddess Chauntea.
