Hey guys,
So I am very interested in playing LFR but am very confused about how to go about starting a character here. I have been searching the web for hours and I have found a ton of information. However, I have been unable to find any information on how to get into a new game and build a character. Is this only run through stores or can I play online on a virtual table ? I played in a D&D Encounter at a local store last week and got my DCI card. Was that game LFR ? Any info on where to get started is very appreciated. Thank you

You can play at cons, in stores, online.  There are restrictions about specific adventures that can only be played in Cons, but any you can download from "Livingforgottenrealms.com" can be played anywhere you want.

If you're playing an LFR adventure (including "My Realms", which gives an LFR framework for anything the DM wants to do), in an LFR legal table (4-6 players, 1 DM), with characters that are LFR legal, you're playing LFR.  This is a very inclusive campaign.

Practical gameplay runs by neither RAW or RAI, but rather "A Compromise Between The Gist Of The Rule As I Recall Getting The Impression Of It That One Time I Read It And What Jerry Says He Remembers, Whatever, We'll Look It Up Later If Any Of Us Still Give A Damn." Erachima

So I just need to find a DM willing to run a beginner adventure so that I can start a level 1 legal LFR character ? I am a member of 3 or 4 forums trying to find online 4e games to play in and for nearly a week I have had no luck at all of getting into any games. Any recommendations on where to find a DM willing to do one of the starter LFR adventures ?

I will occasionally run things through the MapTool forum, although my availability is wonky and erratic. When I do, my preference tends to be to run things in the Heroic Tier.

You can start legal LFR characters at levels 1, 5, 8, or 11.  Further, unless the party is all level 1s, surviving any LFR game in H1 should be easy enough.

So you don't even need to wait for a beginner adventure.  Create a character and go play.

Local stores are a good place to start. I think there's a forum somewhere for organizing online games, but I don't have the link with me
