I went to the Baldman Games site to sign up for the LFR Battle Interactive just as soon as registration went live.  Dave Christ has this description on the BI entry

"Bug the LFR Admins for it. I've asked enough."

He subsequently has no slots available for registration for it.  Will LFR have a Battle Interactive at this year's Winter Fantasy?  It is the main reason I had planned to attend and bring my son.

Yes, there is a BI at Winter Fantasy.

Dave's comment means "Bug the LFR Admins for the description ..."

I think it's available now.

I wanted to register for Winter Fantasy but the Battle Interactive was sold out last week. Dave emailed me saying 120 people registered for it. It's not worth attending for me if I can't play in the BI. They don't have enough judges to offer more. I wish more conventions offered LFR.

Keep an eye out on this thread and the Baldman Games Twitter and Facebook feeds. There is a chance (can't say how large this close to the con) that more DMs will volunteer and more tickets will open up. Alternately, you can volunteer and be the reason six more people get to play

Contact your local conventions and let them know this. Conventions want to offer games that will attract people to play. Also, warhorn.net is a good resource for seeing which upcoming conventions are offering LFR games.

This bears repeating.  It's only at a very few conventions (such as GenCon, Origins, Winter Fantasy, etc.) where the slate is (directly or indirectly) driven by a campaign staff (LFR (through Baldman) or Paizo/PFS).  At most conventions, it depends almost entirely on what the convention organizers (a) believe will be in demand by their attendees, and (b) can get GMs to run.

In my recent experience, it's often the latter which determines whether or not a con is offering LFR -- if the con doesn't have someone willing to act as the event co-ordinator for LFR, and some willing GMs, it just doesn't get offered.

It may also mean that your local convention might be willing to offer LFR, if someone stepped up to do the co-ordinating, and recruiting judges.  It's not necessarily a small task, but it can be an excellent way to build your local player base, and re-invigorate interest in the campaign in your area.
