Apologies if this question isn't specific to ELTU4-2.

Both this adventure and the prior one refer to being part of a trilogy. Can someone provide a name for the trilogy? I was updating my record of adventures and quests and wasn't really sure what to name the trilogy. I suspect Year 4 Elturgard Trilogy was a bit generic.

It's not a trilogy, as it concludes with CORE4-6 (a two-rounder) followed by the Winter Fantasy specials and BI. It was never really meant to be a trilogy as its sort of wrapping up the ELTU storyline.

I think I am confused. The blurb on the adventure site lists that ELTU4-1 is the first part of a trilogy and this mod (ELTU4-2) is the second part of a trilogy.

Do PCs satisfy fullfilling a quest in ELTU4-3 by possible actions in ELTU4-1 and/or ELTU4-2? Does this quest have a name that is different from the name of the trilogySaga? What is the name of this trilogySaga?

They are intended to be play in order, but we have expanded the storyline. The PCs do not complete a major quest at the end of ELTU4-3.

Few quick questions on creatures, I expect the answers are yes, yes, and yes, but I'll ask anyway:

Encounter 3 Show
Zhent Dreadnaught has a couple triggered actions. But they are not written like triggered actions, as I can't find a trigger. Are they supposed to be minor actions? Also, is he supposed to have an action point and +2 to saves?

Encounter 5 Show
Champion of Bane is an elite, is he supposed to have an action point and +2 to saves?

(I'm answering for my wife, the lady who wrote the adventure.)

Encounter 3 Show

You are correct - the 'triggered' actions of the Zhent Dreadnought are supposed to be minor action.  He is not entitled to the +2 to saves and action point, though - the base creature from which he is derived is elite but does not have the bonuses.

Encounter 5 Show

You are correct, the Champion of Bane is entitled to the Action Point and +2 to saves.

Thank you.

It was our other DM's birthday, and I ended up running for 7 players.Undecided

Spoiler: Show
In encounter 3, they disguised one of the party members (a female elf hexblade) as Ylna, which made the fight rather interesting. Most of the party set up for the ambush and had surprise. I had the bad guys, trying to get to the fake target to complete their mission. I ended up using 2 spies, 2 battlestaves, and 2 dreadnoughts (with action points, they needed them). It was just about the right amount of stuff to throw at them. I really like the open-endedness in setup for this encounter.

Pressganging for the last fight was fun. I ended up changing things up a bit in the last two scenes, and combined them, since everyone was trying to yell what they were doing at the same time for the final approach... I went around the table, and gave them all a chance to do something. They succeeded in pretty much everything they tried, as well as the group stealth check.

I'm not really sure if I was supposed to give them a surprise round or not, with them succeeding in both the skill challenge and the group stealth check, but I let them have it. I used one champion, two adepts, three brawlers, two harriers (basically added 1 critter for the 7th player, and 1 critter for the pot). With two wizards, they controlled the crowd fairly easily, but the adept's ability to slide an ally turned out to be excellent anti-control. Again, this was a pretty good fight. I'm usually challenged figuring out what's right for 7, have to find a good spot between too easy and too long.

One thing I wondered at the end is, was I supposed to drop clues as to Vacacarian's involvement? The reward regarding his ire, came as a bit of a surprise.

To answer your question about the story award ELTU25 it's more that Vacacarian knows that the PCs keep interfering with his plans. Vacacarian has been one step ahead for most of the time, but that step keeps getting smaller and smaller. So he has set his goons to get rid of those meddling kids if it is possible; even if they don't quite realize that's what is going on.  ELTU 4-1 may have given some clues at least.  Hope that answers your question.
