We are experimenting a bit with a new format for the MYRE adventures and have released MYRE4-1: CALI. It contains some Calimishan specific plotline suggestions and certs for both heroic and paragon levels. It can now be downloaded at www.livingforgottenrealms.com. Take a look at it. Run your own adventure set in Calimshan and let us know what you think.

Note these are in addition to the regular MYRE adventures!

I like! Very good that it mentions the plotline of the CALI4 adventures, where it's said that you may need a MYRE adventure to complete the task set out for you in the original trilogy. One of the story awards that's conspicuously absent by the way is a WISH for the magic lamp.

Dammit, now I've got to convince someone to write a MYRE so my swordmage can become a first-rate Pasha of Almraiven!

Note that future LFR adventures may specifically reference the MYRE4-1 story awards. Innocent

I'm sorry, I don't understand how that relates to my quote.

A future adventure might (or might not) provide a wish to PCs who have earned certain story awards - perhaps even those earned through MYRE4-1. Or perhaps there will be a different award.

There was a lot of confusion around how many wishes a PC earned playing the CALI4-1, CALI4-2, CALI4-3 series. (Answer: Just 1.) I chose not to include a wish award directly with MYRE4-1 to avoid {confused} players thinking that they could gain a wish each time they play MYRE4-1. {Yes, despite the clear language that each of these story awards is unique and can only be earned once by each PC.} Since the wishes can be quite powerful {especially if one thinks they can gather an unlimited supply of them}, I decided it was safer to not include a wish award at this time.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. Smart decision too, I agree that too many wishes get out of hand quickly.

I got this feedback via email; sharing it publically.

Just a quick note to thank you for putting together the My Realms package for Calimsham (MYRE 4-1).

I found lots of useful things -

The first was the plot hooks.  It was so easy to string together a skill challenge and a couple of encounters with one of the plot hooks.  I could be confident that the plot would fit in among other Calimsham adventures.  Not only that - there were several good ones to choose from.  There were enough good ones so that I could build a three-round My Realms adventure - just like that!

I loved the story awards.  It is so cool to be able to 'cash in' a My Realms story award in other adventures.  It makes the story awards from a My Realms actually good to the PCs for the 'standard' adventures they play.  I thought this was an inspired mechanic.

In addition, the XP and GP award tables were invaluable.  It is so great to have them handy during prep - to make sure that everything was within parameters.

The other thing I appreciated is that - not only did I have everything I needed in one document - I didn't have a lot of extra stuff, either.  The whole document was less than 20 pages.  So nice not to have to print off dozens of irrelevant pages to get what you actually need.   (I'm talking to you - BI authors).

I would love to see this sort of thing for other regions - perhaps the Dalelands or Waterdeep.  This is a great tool, and more like this should be encouraged.
