By Epic Ending, does this mean the ending of the Epic campaign,
or some sort of ending that involves Heroic and Paragon players?

There are a lot of players that will never play the Epic campaign.

If you are referring to my post, I used "epic" with a small "e" deliberately.  The Epic tier adventures previously had a planned ending, which is still in development and so far as I know on track.  I believe both Heroic and Paragon Tier adventures  would be crafted to provide some closure to the campaign.  I doubt they would leave a Tier hanging without love.

My post just got eaten....

Campaign rules should enforce same game same rules while encouraging the flavor of the campaign.

Which is a lesson for the next living campaign because LFR's ship started sailing the day WotC jettisoned the campaign.

I'm thankful the volunters are here to do what they do, and that they have released 17 scenarios in the last 6 months.

But because of the volunter system certain things have fallen to the back burner, and that is the campaign rules.

The meta org rules have been a draft for over a year, and the dicussion on the boards about them dead for just about as long. The only thing that has changed is the deadlines on when it gets fully released. A year is horrible length of time between releasing a draft and a final version.

And the campaign guide hasn't had a final version in a year and a half. I find that people tend to ignore rules labeled as DRAFT. And the only thing that is ignored more is the fact that all the rules to supplement the campaign guide are posted on a webpage and not included in the guide. So that people who print out the guide won't have them on a game day.

Which is bad because I find that most people learn LFR rules from word of mouth at the gameday and people saying "well I think i read this..." doesn't really help when people want a solid answer.

Personally what bothers me are the rules on themes. I undertand the blanket band on the book of vile darkness, but the blanket ban on the Dark Sun themes is insane. Why allow Sorcerer King Pact and not Templar, both need to be refluffed to work in LFR? Why not allow Gladiator, I'm sure in a world like LFR they have Gladiators.

And then we have the Survival Guide which hasn't even gotten a blurb about legality yet. Which sucks for me on a personal level cause I wanted to make a goblin.

The one good thing is that there are always other living campaigns out there so someone like me who wants updated campaign rules has them.

I am wondering how there might be closure in Heroic and Paragon.
Only the Epic campaign has a plot that spans all of the adventures.

Most regions seem to wrap up each story during one or two years.
This is true for both the old area regions and the new story areas.

As long as a bunch of story arcs are not just dropped suddenly,
then I am fine with there not being any overall campaign finale.

There will be a campaign finale. I suspect that some of the events you have witnessed in some regions will eventually be clear to be related some others and will eventually be wrapped up in a nice bow. Obviously not every single plot thread will be wrapped up, but many of the story areas will be brought together for the finale.
