I imagine that some LFR players are wondering when they will see new Waterdeep adventures. I am making progress with both Year 3 and Year 4 trilogies.

I just posted blurbs for the paragon tier Year 3 adventures, which are called the Brightcloaks Quest, in the community group Waterdeep wiki list of the adventures. WATE3-1, Moon Rising, is being given the final tweak by the Global Admin and hopefully will be posted soon.  WATE3-2, Deepest Shadow, is having a stat block review, then will be ready for playtest as is WATE3-3, Dark Ranger. Both WATE3-2 and 3-3 are two round adventures; we will know after the playtests their typical play times.  The Brightcloaks Quest will conclude a story related to House Moonstar and hopefully will feel a bit epic (with a small "e") in the play.

The Year 4 adventures are on track, and these heroic tier adventures are about ready for playtest.  I may not reveal the titles and blurbs for these adventures just yet, but the players will get to experience another facet of intrigue in Waterdeep while engaging in lots of roleplaying opportunities.

With the help of another editor, I completed the stat block review of WATE3-2 last weekend and we will try to schedule playtesting of 3-2 and 3-3 soon.  WATE3-1 is in the queue to be posted.

Year 4 Waterdeep adventures have been sent to the first groups of playtesters.  (I pushed the playtesting of Year 4 ahead of Year 3 because I do not want to fall behind on the Year 4 schedule.)

I appreciate all the updates. Are WATE3-x going to be renumbered as WATE4-x?

If the WATE4-x adventures premiere before the WATE3-x adventures,
will there be storyline and/or timeline issues with their ongoing plots?

I do not think the WATE3-x adventures will be renumbered. The Year 4 adventures are a different story line which is independent of the other story line. And I still hope that the Year 3 adventures will actually be released before the Year 4, although I give no date at this time.

WATE3-x complete the story line originally started in WATE1-1 and WATE1-2, and continued in WATE2-1, 2-2 and 2-3.  It is not necessary to have played the others, but if they were played out of sequence, the story would probably not make sense. (Not to mention the level restrictions on the early adventures.)

WATE4-x picks up the new story line introduced in WATE2-4 and expands on that, so ideally you play WATE2-4 first, but again, it is not necessary to play that adventure to enjoy the WATE4-x adventures.

I apologize again for the year-late release on the WATE3-x adventures; so many challenges appeared as my spare time was shrinking.

As the Baldman has released the events for Gencon, I can now admit that the Year 4 Waterdeep adventures are going to be at Gencon.  I have updated the Waterdeep wiki site with the titles, blurbs, and author names. We have accomplished the initial playtests of all 3 adventures, and are now trying to make revisions in line with playtester comments.

As these adventure are set within Waterdeep, they are investigative/story focused with opportunities for role playing. The combats are intended to be challenging for a balanced, but not optimized group.

I ask that DMs, playtesters, etc. do not post spoilers in advance of Gencon; I will be on the Gencon DM list (at that time) and can respond offline as needed for DM questions.

Looking forward to playing these -- WATE has been my favorite LFR story area, so it's good to see a hefty chunk of WATE goodness will be waiting for me at GenCon this year!

Just to be clear, are the Year 4 adventures premiering before the Year 3 adventures?

It is my hope to get Year 3 released before the Year 4, but I cannot promise that.  Gencon is of course in August, and getting the attention of the Global Admins as we get into full con activities may be a problem.  Also, because WATE3-2 and WATE3-3 are two round adventures, I am having some difficulty getting quick playtests.  So right now, June is probably the earliest I could see these released.  WATE3-1 will be as soon as Sean gets it PDFed and posted.

Best I can tell you.
