After reading today's Class Acts article about the ninja build for the assassin, I thought "How could would it be to play a ninja in LFR?"
I could totally see one hailing from the Dragon Coast, even being Shou.
Thoughts?

Technically, Shou wouldn't have Ninjas. They'd have Lin Kuei! mortalkombat.wikia.com/wiki/Lin_Kuei

Isn't Kara Tur in the FR campaign setting, far to the east beyond Thesk?
I believe it is, and as such any Eastern-themed characters are theoretically possible in the FR world, just not particularly common or accepted.

Yes, Kara Tur is the far east in FR. Shou are originally from Kara Tur.

Although most of the attention in FRCG (and similar books previously) are on Faerun, the western half of a continent, the Forgotten Realms also includes: Kara-Tur (far to the East), Returned Abeir, which replaced Maztica during the Spellplague (to the West), and Zakhara (south of Kara-Tur), which we do not have much current information that I know of. There were additional "unknown lands," allowing for future expansion.
