So as a Co-writer, I'd love to hear feedback from people on Neth 3-3. The other part of the team, Lee and Michelle dont often frequent the boards, so any positive feedback will be forwarded, all other feedback will turn you into a meal to be devoured. (I kid.. I kid)
Hope people at Origins enjoy the module, I'll be on site for questions about it, and well, I hope to be able to collaborate once again with further Neth modules, under the command of the evil, yet diminutive overlord Dubois.
Anyway hope to hear the communities feedback! -Skip

Encounter 3
Show
Wouldn't the Necrotized Floor be automatically detectable with Passive Perception? At AL 12 the DC is 15. At level 11 the PCs could have a minimum +4 Perception, but how likely is that?
Edit: Encounter 3

Also, isn't removed from play and stunned redundant and only allows players to potentially argue that Superior Will and similar powers should come into effect. Is this intensional that removing the stun would allow them to cancel all or part of the removed from play condition (which itself doesn't allow actions).

Absolutely. We didn't create the trap - we just scaled it (and I want to say it was base mid-paragon with that DC) and put it in the adventure. It's not there as a "gotcha" trap; it's there as a "push you into it" trap. Keep in mind that it triggers on *any* entry, regardless of who initiated it, and can trigger once on each creature's turn.

It's intentional that the monster is in the adventure with abilities as described in the most recent source for that creature. Were I the DM, I'd allow a save with Superior Will, and allow that save to also end the "removed from play" condition unless the party was having a really easy time with the encounter.

There are unlit candles described in the ritual circles in the read-aloud text, but in the first paragraph describing the encounter "there is no ambient light in the home, nor is there a method of producing light in the home beyond the candle Naramus used in Encounter 2". Which is contradictory, overly paranoid, and a little non-sensicle. Does the Shade have flameless heat? Also, darkvision doesn't give color vision, so if he's doing research you'd think he'd want some access to normal vision. Anyways, not a big deal, but I assume if the players light the candles somehow, they aren't magically flameless or something.
It looks like these are starting to get a little specific and beyond the realm of feedback. If you private message me, I can address some of the more specific and nuanced questions that are not specifically relevant to overall enjoyment of the adventure.

Well, this is the third of four modules I'm prepping for Origins on little sleep (the fourth being the BI I volunteered for when the call went out). Please forgive if I was trying more to be precise than polite.
I think my questions would be useful to the community, so feel free to post them back if you think other DM's would be interested in the answers.
It's no problem; I appreciate DMs trying to be thorough (and that Amanuensis thing you mentioned really needs to be addressed). It's that (and this might just be me) some of the questions you were asking were more appropos of a DM question thread (like the Origins DM list) than a general feedback thread, and the version of the adventure you have (unless you have one that I don't) is the slot zero version, not the final version.

We're looking for positive feedback, and some of the answers to your questions can be answered without much info. If creatures have lived in Darkness for a few thousand years, with small amounts of light, they dont really need to keep things around. They do have candles, but Gloom mostly overrides it. Also. Shades are paranoid, and non sensicle. No ambient light, and no means. More refers to the fact that, Dark Vision creatures dont often need light sources to operate, and his lab isnt nessecarily the rest of the domicile. Thanks for the feedback Fug. Did you play or judge it yet?

You only get the type of feedback you deserve, Skip - positive or negative.

Did my block not work, also, positive or negative. ^_^ the first we're looking for positive, was supposed to be humerous! ^_^ Also to be fair, I did mention previously. Soany positive feedback will be forwarded, all other feedback will turn you into a meal to be devoured. Good gaming guys!

Not yet, I'm judging at Origins.
I put my questions on the Yahoo list since they're a bit fine and may not apply to the non-0-slot version of the mod.
On Darkness
Show
It's interesting to think about what would happen to a sentient society that grew up in Darkness. Many things we take for granted by being able to distinguish color wouldn't apply. Would entirely different economies develop since with darkvision you can't determine gold from silver based on color? Art would be entirely based on shape not color. It would be harder to tell edible food from non-edible, spoiled or poisoned food.
