I've got one waiting for details on the Platinum Cadre. I mean, he's joining it unless something in the fluff is just completely idiotic, but I still need it to be published before I can claim to be a member.

Practical gameplay runs by neither RAW or RAI, but rather "A Compromise Between The Gist Of The Rule As I Recall Getting The Impression Of It That One Time I Read It And What Jerry Says He Remembers, Whatever, We'll Look It Up Later If Any Of Us Still Give A Damn." Erachima

Greetings...
This thread is for discussion of the DRAFT LFR Meta-Organization Guidelines, available for download now from www.livingforgottenrealms.com (check the top of the page under the "Just Announced!" headline; I'll also add this to the Campaign Rules section once we have a final version).
Note that the draft posits an effective date of 01 June 2011; I do not believe that is realistic as we need to synch the final version of this document with the final version of the June update to the LFR Campaign Guide. So don't get hung up on that date. Nevertheless, we do need your comments and suggestions in a timely fashion as it is our desire to have this ready to go for Origins.
Thanks!
When will the revised document be out? Got lots of people wanting to join the Cerulean sign meta org now!

We hope to post a number of things before Origins. Hopefully this will be one of them.

I was really hoping to see some new stuff (Meta-Org, adventures, campaign guide, something) on the download page this morning with the Origins game fair starting today. Any update on when an update will occur?

hi all, so, just noticed today during a game (when it happened to come up) that the joining requirements have been almost entirely dropped from Lion's Den, Dusk Talkons, and Order of Torm. When did this happen, as I hadn't noticed it before. Other than alignment, there is now no restrictions on these three? Makes most of the story awards from ELTU 3-1 - 3-6 worthless...

Favor/Disfavor with organizations is separate from the requirements for joining these organizations.
These story awards may impact future adventures, regardless of one's membership status with the relevant organization.

Two more days until we're past the... fourth deadline, is it now? I've had a character in the Platinum Cadre since ~November, and now almost 8 months later, I still have no clue about anything regarding that meta-org. And don't even get me started on the Cerulean Sign...

Time keeps passing and nothing is published... players in my area are becoming really dis-illusioned with the lack of clarity on Meta-orgs (and the pace of adventure releases). I see Pathfinder growing and LFR becoming smaller with each passing Con and this has a lot to do with it. Releasing the Origins and Gencon advenures quickly was a huge win and I want to thank everyone that did that, but we need those new Meta Orgs, nothing is more frustrating for players that having unusable rewards!

At this point, I think we have to accept that they just aren't coming. In one month, my Cavalier will have been in the Platinum Cadre for a full year (~25% of the campaign's entire run) without having a single clue what it does. With the grinding halt of new material for 4e anyway, I really think I'm just about done.

Here in Houston, people who were playing LFR 2 years ago when I started playing, have switched back to Pathfinder. At local gaming conventions, Pathfinder is getting a much stronger turnout than LFR. I started playing with 4e and so "going back" is not an option. I'm happy with this edition. Just wish LFR was better organized. I guess Hasbro can't make money off of LFR so it's becoming less and less of a priority for WoTC.
I'm in the same boat as Illeist; I have a Dragonborn character who can be a member of Platinum Cadre but it's mostly meaningless. I enjoyed playing the Waterdeep adventures with my Bard. The new adventures continue to mention meta-organizations and story awards tied to them. Hopefully the LFR admins will provide an explanation of the delay and set some realistic expectations if they don't release an updated guide soon.
