I have a quick question that I cannot seem to find the answer to anywhere on the forums or in the official LFR Campaign Guide.

I created an Essentials-build Halfling Thief and ran him through Encounters: Season 3 from level 1 to level 3.  I know that Essentials characters are legal in LFR, but can I take my level 3 halfling thief from Essentials and legally play in LFR modules?  Is there a conversion process?

Thanks in advance.

Nope. In season 1 of Encounters there was a path to take a character from Encounters and port them to LFR. However, the last few seasons have not allowed that and I do not believe that the current season/LFR allows that.

That said, if you're willing to fudge some things, you could reasonably create a 5th level version of your character using the normal LFR rules for such.

Just to expand on what was said, because Season 1 was set in the FR we provided a path to convert your Encounters PC in an LFR PC. It is likely we will do so again for the Neverwinter Encounters season once that season finishes, but again, only because it takes place in the FR.

Or you could convince someone to run the Encounters season as My Realms and do it as LFR instead of Encounters.
Sorry WOTC, you lost me with Essentials.  So where I used to buy every book that came out, now I will be very choosy about what I buy.  Can we just get back to real 4e?

Check out the 4e Conversion Wiki.

I think the upcoming season of Encounters has the option of moving your character into LFR again.

It doesn't really matter. You can start a character at any tier and forgo all the BS.

The Neverwinter season does not yet have that option, though we are looking at ways to make that happen.

Skerrit: I was referring to the now current Encounters season, Evards.

Ah, in that case no. We have no plan to allow any PCs from those encounters seasons not grounded in the Realms into LFR.
