Gamex 2011 play report:
  community.wizards.com/davidgiven/blog/20...

This was a super great mod -- the best I have played at Paragon--I really enjoyed & appreciated all of the work that went into it. Thanks, David S.

I have a question about the story awards and qualifications.

Major Quest XP: requires CORM11 from CORM1-6 and CORM20 from CORM2-2

CORM23 (Knight): merely requires completing the adventure successfully
CORM23 (Knight Exalted): requires CORM11 or other Cormyrean Knighthood

CORM24 (King's Advisor): requires CORM23 and already a Knight Exalted
or
one of (CORM06, CORM13, CORM16) and completing the major quest (above)

Is this correct?

The main point of contention is the story awards indicate you
automatically earn CORM24 if you are already a Knight Exalted,
while the text also says you need to complete the major quest.

The intent is that in order to become King's Advisor (CORM24), you must complete the major quest and also meet one of the following conditions:

(1) one of CORM06, CORM13, CORM16
(2) PC was a Knight Exalted before completing CORM2-4 (currently only possible with the Purple Dragon Knight or War Wizard paragon path, but left open in case another story award in a future adventure provided Knighthood or Knight Exalted for Cormyr)

Thanks for the quick response. It sounds like in order to earn King's Advisor,
you need one of CORM06, CORM13, CORM16 unless you take paragon path
Purple Dragon Knight or War Wizard. I suppose this could change in the future.

I note that CORM06 can only be earned as a major quest award starting
with an H1 adventure, and CORM13 and CORM16 are in H1 adventures.
Therefore, you cannot earn King's Advisor unless you start at level one.

Correct.

Unless . . . you have the Purple Dragon Knight or War Wizard paragon path . . .
OR . . . future campaign documentation is released that grants Knight Exalted status in Cormyr.

Who said there are never any benefits to starting at level 1?

(This isn't the only mod that provides extra benefits based on H1 story awards. I believe the second QUES mod did that too.)

I'm curious if anyone else uses the Throne Room from CORM 2-3 for the final encounter here? Spoiler: Show
I thought it was weird that the queen chose to dispose of the Dragon Sigil, Braziers, Orb, and Balcony (all potentially benefitting her) while redecorating and removing the extra throne (and changing the overall size of the room slightly).

It's a completely different room. No redecorating was done. The fight in CORM 2-3 took place in the Throne Room. The fight in CORM 2-4 took place in the Coronation Hall.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but this seemed to be the place to ask.

Let's say a character had CORM11, but lost it in favor of DALE26 (from DALE2-2 Agony).

1) How should this impact the adventure in general?
2) Upon completion, the same character qualifies for CORM24. If they choose the Master Spy option, allowing them to be loyal to both Cormyr and New Valar (sort of), is their CORM11 award reinstated? If so, do they then get CORM 23 after all?
On the CO IRC, generally as TorpedoFish.

This is up to the DM.

If I'm understanding the history correctly, the PC chose to be knighted in Cormyr, renounced that position, and now is returning to Cormyr. I would suspect that the impact would depend on the situation. Those that know of this PC's past would likely react to the PC as a "deserter," while most inhabitants of Cormyr would have no idea who the PC is.

It's best to think of these story awards as, well, "story." The PC isn't much of a "Master Spy" while sitting on the New Valar council in their Purple Dragon Tabbard and Royal Ring. Similarly, it's unlikely they would be reinstated as a knight (or laughably, a knight exhalted) after voluntarily renouncing that title!

That said, it's not a stretch to think "becoming a spy for Cormyr was my plan all along" is a reasonable plan for the PC. Lord Prio would likely recommend that the position in New Velar is better accomplished by a New Velar Noble than by a Knight of the Crown of Cormyr!

The player should put some thought into their PC's loyalties, especially when making decisions about swearing fealty to a particular country. (i.e. Taking "Master Spy" does not give you two allegiances. It specifically states that Cormyr is your true allegiance.) These high-paragon choices may become important, especially in epic play where one country's needs might need to be placed above another's.
