In the days of Living City, many of us had characters that joined several of the campaign meta-organizations. Whether the Temples, the Militia, or the Wizard’s Guild, these organizations became so much a part of the city that they became intertwined with the campaigns plot. In fact, they were so important that several saw print in the 1998 product The City of Ravens Bluff.
In the Return to Ravens Bluff MINI-campaign, several of the Knighthoods have new life as they are featured as an integral part of the story. Some have risen to prominence while others are all but forgotten in the...
With Origins fast approaching this weekend, many LFR players will soon be turning thoughts to the glory that is Gen Con Indy (Aug 5-8). It is that annual pilgrimage to play the newest games, meet the celebrities in our industry, and once again meet up with those great friends we only see once or twice a year.
As previously announced, this Gen Con will see the return of the RPGA to the city of Ravens Bluff last visited during the halcyon days of Living City, granddaddy of all the living campaigns. In addition to some brief visits in most of the adventures LFR adventures at Gen Con, the...
The final version CCG 1.99 has been posted and should be up on the RPGA site in a few days. Until then, it can also be found at Google Docs:

As you have seen over the last few weeks, the Living Forgotten Realms campaign is changing. We have had our first battle interactive, the Global Administrators have been much more active on the Community site, and we have seen changes to retraining and making new characters. These changes have only been the beginning, those few things the Globals could work on with the authority we had. Now that an even greater level of the campaign’s control has been turned over to the Globals, more changes will quickly follow. I am going to do my best to fill you in on some of the HUGE changes...

If you do not post here, I cannot garuntee that the Globals will see it and your comments might go unheard. The thread will remain open through the weekend, possibly longer,...
The second topic we (the campaign staff) are considering is the place of RewardCards in LFR. We are addressing two issue, with (I feel that) the first is themost important.Problem 1: The presence of Reward Cards has drastically deceased in therelevance of some game mechanics. (e.g. Snap out of It makes daze not a threat. That'll Do means most skill challenges are never a problem. Etc…) This isleading to additional power creep where authors assume that tables have thecards, or in the cases where the assumption is made that the cards are notpresent, very easy adventures for some.Problem 2:...
We are considering many changes in the rules for the LFR campaign. I would like to talk about the first of these changes with you now and solicit your input as the LFR staff also discusses this possiblity. Problem: Making tables for people that rarely play, have disparate levels or are new players coming to established conventions, is difficult. For example, a brand new player and four other players (level 6, 8, 11, 12) all show up at your gameday and thus can't make a table; so all of the established players end up making another first level PC and replaying an old H1 adventure with...
I am in the process of a fairly major update to the LFR CCG and I would like to make sure everyone has had their chance to give their input. Since we hope to get this document out before the heavy rush of the summer convention season, it's important that if you haven't already, you visit the CCG suggestion thread over in the forums: community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758....
I can't guarantee that we will address everything all players want (particularly campaign rulings on the way specific rules items work in 4e), but we hope cover a lot of things, including lots of new directions...
As some of you may have heard, the next Mini-campaign arc will premier (and end) at Gen Con with a return to Raven’s Bluff! That city of adventurers that conjures up so many good memories from the Living City days will be the setting for all of the Gen Con adventures, but will especially be the focus for the MINI2 adventures as we follow the trials of a band of new adventurers getting their start in one of the most exciting cities in the Realms. These three one-round adventures will be set in the H1 tier (levels 1-4) and we hope will have some ties to the Special and Core released at...
