For all of you asking about getting a DCI/RPGA number on the site....They have stopped accepting applications by email. Now the only way to get a membership is to attend an event and get one from the organizer. Seems odd to me too. LFR is a lot of fun, so I hope you can find local games. Good luck to all.

how do i play? Like, when do i create my character?

I might missing something completely, but the Wizards site is leading me in circles when it comes to sign up for the RPGA and get a DCI number.

The only option I've found is to go through the WPN and sign up as an Organizer. Is there no way to join as a player?

The funny thing is that when you click on the link to get an RPGA number, the Wizards help system just gives you a 'Permission denied'.
