Greetings...
After some discussion with the Organized Play staff at Wizards, we've decided that it makes more sense to distribute public-play adventures directly instead of asking people to go through the RPGA/WPN ordering system. We don't want to make people jump through the hoop of sanctioning a WPN event just to get an LFR battle interactive or other special event, because it just creates another different place where people have to look in order to get their hands on LFR adventures (in addition to the LFR Community download site and the LFR Adventure Archive [warning: the LFR Adventure Archive link takes to you a ~50MB ZIP file]).
However, we don't want to give up our ability to track conventions, game days, retail store games, and other public events that are running these special adventures, and we also don't want to give up the opportunity to build relationships between the campaign staff and the event organizers who are making these public LFR events happen. We don't want to make these adventures hard to obtain, but we also want to do more than just put them on the site for download the way we do with all the other adventures (that aren't restricted to public events only).
So we've settled on creating a new online LFR Public-Play Adventure Request form, which is available right now. When you want to run any of the LFR adventures that are limited to public events only (which currently means ADCP1-1 Jungle Hunt, ADCP2-1 The Paladins' Plague, ADCP2-2 Heart of the Desert, and/or ADCP3-1 Swarm of Chaos) just fill out the form with your contact information and some basic information about your event. A member of the campaign staff will review the information you provide, and will then contact you via e-mail with the adventures you've requested (and hopefully that will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship, as we hope you will continue to organize more public LFR events in the future).
You can find the request form here:
www.surveymonkey.com/s/LFRAdventureReque...
(You can check the form out without submitting it -- so feel free to click the link even if you aren't running a public event. Just remember that the ADCP adventures are not sanctioned for home play, so please don't send us a request to run them at home, as we will have to say no. Why not become a WPN Event Organizer and run them at your friendly local gaming store instead?)
We hope that event organizers will find this new process easier and more consistent, and that you will value the direct contact with the campaign staff (as we will value the direct contact with you). Of course, we reserve the right to make changes as we see how well this works (or doesn't work), and we would love to hear your feedback on this topic in the forums.
Thanks very much and we look forward to hearing from you!
