I like skills in 3E but found the points system too fiddly and also the bonuses got to big to fast, higher levels could almost always make a check unless I threw in ridiculous DCs. I like the Tier idea, just make sure it scales with the levels.

I in general like the skill points of 3e, but I also liked when semi-redundant skills were merged. I, however, want the merges to make sense. It makes sense for Open Lock and Disable Device to go together, and it makes sense for Sleight-of-Hand and Escape Artist to go together, but it does not really make sense to me to combine all four into one skill.
Also, I strongly believe in a difference between Search skill as an active skill, and Spot and Listen belonging to a separate, passive...

I tend to see Resistance as an easier, more solid mechanic. I also hate with a passion +X magic items and the old -this can only be hit with a +2 weapon- , -this only with a +3- and so on. What I do like are immunities, although I'd use them sparingly. I really don't think ghosts and other immaterial creatures should give a damn about anything solid, elemental magic included, with the possible exception of weapons and magic created for the explicit goal of hurting them. Dragons might be highly...

These types of special monster traits should be "just spelled out on a case-by-case basis for the monsters that ... need them."
Describing unique characteristics for different monsters allows for a greater variety of monster traits. Instead of 27 different monsters with either resiatance or DR, you could have 8 with DR, 7 with resistance, and a dozen others with wholey unique characteristics.

The immunities are not any different than the Warforged and that is a +0 lvl adjustment. The immunities are nice but only half healing is a major drawback. Your idea with intent as to how to heal a Revenant is interesting. Basing it one the casters intent is a pretty interesting idea in itself. But I think my mistake was in giving them more healing from the divine class. In the end Divine magic of anytime should only heal them 1/2 as effective. This is what helps balance out WF. To get full healing they need to be healed via REPAIR spells from an Arcane caster. This helps balance it out even more as (A) they only get full healing from a Wizard and not a cleric and (B) Any spells the wizard uses to heal that character means they have less in their arsenal to cause damage or other useful effects. This has to be addressed and I am glad you guys brought it up. I am either going to create a new line of Arcane only spells for them or I will allow them to be repaired via the repair spell. I am not sure I like the idea of specifically making them drawing anything from eating raw meat or blood. That sorta pushes them into more Vampire than just undead in general. BUT I have been toying with giving them a PrC of their own which will have 10 levels and allow them to slowly expand themselves more into their undead side (similar to the WF juggernaut). This prestige class would work along the lines of them choosing an undead path and then gaining some abilities they would normally have access to. So a Revenant could make themselves more like A Vampire, A Zombie, A Wraith etc as time goes on. Thanks again or your input!
