2nd February, 2008:
Sabat repented of his deception of the Scions of Skywalker (a non-sexist renaming of the sect was another of the suggestions he made), admitting that he made up the whole 'Luke Skywalker had three arms' schtick.
Grateful of his eventual honesty, but angered by his initial lies, they decide to teach him a little lesson, pegging him out in the hot desert sun of Tattooine for a day. His repeated attempts to escape his just punishment (eventually aided by Yoon-Kai) sees the cultists eventually lose all patience with him and question his place in the prophecy.
Daur's return, guided by the restless Force-spirit of Ka'hul (remember him? Is it any surprise he wouldn't be best pleased at becoming one with the Force and all the old fogies that preceded him there?), finally reunites the team. Unable to be guided by Noogar - as his gifts merely allowed him to forsee events in his immediate vicinity - they go with the Jedi's hunch that his old comrade Fandomar (yeah, now that's a blast from the past) may be able to clue them in on what's been going on with the New Order and their recent hate-on for them.
So, to Coruscant. Thankfully not ambushed by bounty hunters this time, they variously get themselves past the orbital defences with a mixture of brash bluffing (thankfully performed by ArEx rather than Sabat) and Force tricks.
The Force indicates that Fandomar is in the jungle, so an airspeeder of some sort is required. Hitting up a handy-looking used vehicle emporium, ArEx sends his lowly jawa mook Nebit (not Noogar, who's still on Tattooine, right?) to promise a vast sum in exchange for a certain vehicle, before breezing in himself, with his landspeeder, to deal with the wookiee attendant.
It's a harsh negotiation process as the droid and the hairy beast thrash out the details, but the team is far away in their new acquisition by the time the wookiee realises his valued jawa customer isn't going to return to collect the goods.
The jungles of Corscant (terraformed, remember?) are still infested with Yuuzhan-Vong warbeasts, as the party discovers when one drops onto their vehicle. Evasive manoeuvres and Force slapping ditch it, but they're still losing fuel rapidly.
They have enough to reach the ruins where Fandomar is awaiting them, suspicious of Daur and his companions. He has good reason, what with the New Jedi Order apparantly turning on him and trying to seduce him to return to Yavin IV. He sensed the Dark Side in their tugging, and so resisted.
He was aided by the ruins, which apparantly dampen the Force around them. Fandomar had been exploring them with Maltor Formby (the old arcaeologist from way back), and the group decides to venture further inwards with the two of them, for whatever reason.
Heiroglyphics, translated fully by ArEx, point to 'space dinosaurs' having built the structure, within which they siphoned the souls of people into war-engines, until Jedi drove them off. Sabat's handy-dandy knowledge of life sciences correlated this story with the species known as the Ssi-Ruuk, who had been thought recently discovered.
Meth becomes suspicious of what Yoon-Kai could be hiding behind his mask, accusing him of space dinosaur tendencies as they progress through the structure. It takes a while to convince her otherwise, and once they've gone down a level she takes the lead through the darkened, strangely modern-looking corridors.
After Yoon-Kai hears voices up ahead, she checks out a doorway to find a couple of stormtroopers, blasters primed and ready.
