![]() Born into a noble house in Tyr, Lord Xavian Dakkev rarely wanted for anything even despite the harsh landscape of Athas. His psionic talent manifested themselves very early in his life. He had mastered the common language only a few months after being born and could walk as soon as his muscles had developed to the point of being able to support his weight. By the time he was a toddler simple telekinesis, clairvoyance, and an intuition that sometimes bordered on precognition were second nature to him. Being of noble birth meant that Xavian's already potent natural abilities were cultivated only by the best psionic tutors, though his skills surpassed many of them by the time he was a teenager. In return for all of the generosities of House Dakkev in developing his talents, Xavian would become an agent in the underground war against House Vateni. He became House Dakkev's most valuable information gathering asset, using his formidable powers to probe the depths of the minds of its enemies to extract intelligence, implant false counter-intelligence, and influence their opinions or even their actions. Despite all of this, House Dakkev was not fairing well in the conflict. The agents of House Vateni were gaining strange, almost supernatural, powers which helped them land on the winning side of many encounters, be they physical or political. Saved only by the fact that King Kalak did not tolerate such attempts at gaining power and influence, and that the struggle must remain a secret, House Dakkev fell very quickly in the ensuing chaos after the King's assassination. Its members were quickly hunted down and captured or slain by Vateni agents bolstered with all manner of powerful augmentations. Xavian and a few other scattered survivors have since been working to discover the source of House Vateni's newfound power and exact their revenge.
