I started reading the latest treasure article but I couldn't bear to finish reading it before getting my own ideas off my chest (and into yours, ha get it? It's like a totally hilarious pun -_-.)
The Unblooded Blade
The Dagger is sheathed in a scabbard adorned with Elemental swirls and scratches. A leather strip buckles the dagger to the scabbard so it doesn't slip out. After removing the buckle you notice that the neck of the scabbard and blade has been stuck together with wax.
Unsheathing the blade and breaking the wax reveals a pure silver dagger. It quickly oxidizes and tarnishes a deep black colour, reflecting absolutely nothing.
Trying to resheath the blade seems to be impossible, the inside of the scabbard seems to have filled itself in.
Affect
a single scratch from the blade kills an enemy or reduces the player to 0hp. The dagger is however, one use only. After its single strike its blade melts away leaving only the hilt
History / Hook
Unblooded blades are usually forged with a specific target in mind. The Evil god Lolth usually grants these boons to her assassins. The hilt of the blade, if translated tells the name of the intended victim. These blades never see battle, due to their temporal nature, and are mostly used on kings or other people high up on the social ladder. Anyone killed by the blade first travels through Lolths dominion before being banished to the Abyss.
A few of these blades have gone missing over the years. Mostly due to assassins getting themselves killed in the wilderness. The daggers don't usually last long in the company of idiot adventurers, who instantly whip it out to have a look at it. Thus, almost none have ever been seen for sale.
