First, let me say I like the setting. Alot. Enough so that I'm inspired to take your maps, and npcs and run my own game of it. Looking at your nicely done world map, I have to ask , do you have a scale in miles/leagues for each square? Or is that something you are hand-waving? Also, since the Dragonborn are the predominant culture/race, does their culture hold sway over ALL the known cultures? Or is it more like the real world, where there is some influence, but there are plenty of distinctive cultures on islands nations? I'm still reading your write-up, and just enjoying it. I'll admit at first I was jaded when I saw that this was featured on the board. But I started reading it last night, and downloaded/merged the maps into one pdf and just was inspired. Truly had great ideas on story kickers, ways to incorporate power groups, and all-in-all just a neat setting. Well done, sir! I look forward to reading more of you setting.

I believe each square is the equivalent to one day worth of ship voyaging. I would assume that means 48 Miles. Looking at the Adventurers Vault, the slowest ship they have, the Longship, moves at that rate.... however another ship they mention there is the Greatship and that can move 96 miles in a given day.... so there is some amount of ambiguity to this description. I am going to be running this campaign as well, I assume the best distance to use per square would be 48 miles.. but who knows. Chris?.... Chris? You there? ...oh .. on another note... what will YOU be putting beyond the Black Curtain?

What a simple and uniform way to measure distance! 1 square = 1 days travel.

Wow, this campaign has come a long way from when I first viewed it (before Chris had actually begun playing it I believe). Had all the background info...I made my own maps and wrote up each area as a region (much like in FRPG), then played the campaign. Working from Chris's framework the players loved the campaign. Unfortunately we finished some time ago around 6th level on an island near to Kheth fighting a black dragon and undead.
