Academy Researchers < /a>

With Eldrazi Conscription , Enlightened Tutor , Geist of Saint Traft , Steel of the Godhead , Angelic Destiny , and a U/W control package I strongly believe this could get busted. Aether Vial could also probably find room here.

PS. I'll keep my threads in this forum to two at a time.

Anyways though, thoughts on this shell?

Well...

Forget all other auras. The conscription is what you should be caring. The more I think about it, the more I've ended up thinking that an aggro/control shell is what you need. Aether Vial can go nuts. Another card that can go nuts is Academy Rector . Let's focus on what we have until now, shall we?

This should be an aggro/control deck, with two enchantment combos that fetch Conscription. The first is Academy Researchers + Enlightened Tutor and the second is Academy Rector + successful block/sac mechanism/removal effect. Just be careful because the Rector can get StP'd. With Aether Vial, an uncounterable Geist/Researchers seems a very nice plan though.

Apart from that plan, the deck should not be linear. Manlands should be nice, use Mishra's Factory . Snapcaster Mage should also find its place as a 4-of, to recast the tutor and possible counterspells. Elspeth, Knight Errant can find her way as a 2-of. I think this deck should look as a variant of fish, with conscription engine.

I'd use lockdown/control-ish creatures. Ethersworn Canonist can auto-kill decks, and you can have the tempo advantage with Vial/manlands. DO NOT use Delver, you will not have enough instant/sorceries. Cursecatcher can also be nice I think, you're gonna need a 1-drop if you don't draw vial and you need protection. Vendilion Clique should also be in there. It's the best blue creature, after all.

I may end up trying to put too many things in the deck at the moment due to paying more attention to EDH lately. But I'll see what I can do.

In the meantime could you post me a link to a few fish decks or if you happen to play one let me see yours? I've never even heard of fish. But if it's similar I'd like to check it out.

Seriously, no idea. Possibly because blue creatures going aggro are fish, so... that's a fish deck. Awkward.

Fish refers to the original build of the deck, which was Merfolk. It has since been modified to include any aggro-control deck with blue.
Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
And the Dish ran away with the Spoon.
He ran from conviction, and fed his addiction as the Dish heated the Spoon...
The Spoon begged to go, but the Dish shouted : "NO!!"
"The heroin will be ready soon!"

"Any time doing the right thing is funny as hell, it's probably Chaotic Good."

Counter top ? If we include Force of Will we'll have cmc from 1-5 which would be nice, and provide constant filtering to make the researcher and the rector combos more consistant.  Plus the deck will already be running Enlightened Tutor to get the top.

You'd basically be running a slightly wonkier Stiflenaught. I like it.

I'm not quite sure how this should look. I'll come up with a list soon, but it's very different to my usual style of building.
