Well it's been a few days since the D&D Community site went live. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how it looks and acts. Performance-wise it seems a little sluggish at times, but the functionality that's been provided is pretty great.
I hope they somehow manage to tie in certain aspects of it with other social networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter, or Yelp. It would be nice to have my statuses linked if I wanted and to review gaming stores, etc. and have those show up. I think it may be a while for that type of cross-linking and it may never happen...but a guy can wish.
I also took the opportunity to setup a Group for the Columbus, Ohio area in an attempt to bring together surrounding gamers, DMs, and game stores into a single area here. I know the Community area is new but only a couple people have joined (and one was a friend I asked to join - Thanks Dustin).
This makes me wonder how large the Columbus area gaming community is. I may have to consider expanding the Group to include all of Ohio (which might not be a bad idea if things stay slow). I'm hoping as more people use the Community here and find groups, that I can have links from the D&D Columbus Group to other stores, neighboring cities, etc.
Well that's about it for now, I have my profile all setup, I've uploaded some photos (sure they are my cats and not gaming related but hey), and I've blogged...now for some house/yard work while the weather is cool and sunny....
