It's been a while, but it's about time for me to power out the rest of the review for the set. Prerelease for it is on MTGO as i write this, hopefully everyone got into some events. Official release for the set is Monday, October 17th for those who aren't sure. Without further ado, here's the ranking system for those who have skipped the past articles: 1 - This card shouldn't see much, if any play in EDH. Either very limited uses to one or two specific generals, or just bad.

Fall is a great time of year. Football season has started, highschoolers have their games under the lights on friday nights, the temperature is cooling down, everyone is pulling their hoodies and jeans out of boxes for the upcoming winter. With all that going on, we also arrive at a great time for us Magic players as well, it's time for a new block release, and the largest standard rotation of the year. This fall's new block is Innistrad, a block full of flavor and featuring graveyard shenanigans. Without further ado, lets begin the review...for those unfamiliar with my rating system, here it is:
1 - This card shouldn't see much, if any play in EDH. Either very limited uses to one or two specific generals, or just bad.

Back again with the final installment into the M12 set, and how i feel it effects the Commander environment. This time, we will be looking at the artifacts and lands of the set, and breaking down where each card falls in power level to the format. A small note to make before we begin: I am omitting a handful of cards from the set that are just strictly unplayable, these cards are more aimed at balancing out limited, and other formats, and have no place in Commander. These are cards like [card]Demon's Horn[/card], or [card]Giant's Spider[/card], where while they pertain to other formats, they just aren't relevant to Commander. That said, lets begin. 1 - This card shouldn't see much, if any play in EDH. Either very limited uses to one or two specific generals, or just bad.

Beginning to finish up the set, lets take a look at red and green in M12, and how they may affect Commander games near you. I will be omitting cards that are clearly unplayable in this format, regardless of how good they are in limited, or any other format. 1 - This card shouldn't see much, if any play in EDH. Either very limited uses to one or two specific generals, or just bad.

Another session of rating cards from M12 from a Commander/EDH perspective. I probably should mention that these ratings are from a multiplayer point of view, cards would have different ratings if i were rating them from a 1v1 perspective, I apologize if that is what you are seeking. One last thing i should mention, since this is a normal set, and not a set specifically designed for commander, i will be omitting ratings for cards that i consider simply unplayable. It was an oversight on my part not to do this for the first M12 article, but i will do this for normal sets from now on. Without further ado, let us begin. 1 - This card shouldn't see much, if any play in EDH. Either very limited uses to one or two specific generals, or just bad.

So, with the Commander decks live and kicking on mtgo, and M12 having already rolled in for paper magic, i wanted to start my review of the set from a commander perspective. This set is significantly larger than my previous review, so i will break it down by color. This time, we have white.Rating system:

Players in paper have had the new Commander decks for a few weeks now, but those of us who play on MTGO have only had them for 7 days. And now that i've had 7 days to see the new "meta" (if you can call it that for a "casual" format without any real rotations), i wanted to address my thoughts on the 51 new cards, and the effect they can have in decks going forward. Rating system: 1 - This card shouldn't see much, if any play in EDH. Either very limited uses to one or two specific generals, or just bad. 1.5 2 - This card might see a little play, and it's not totally unplayable, but by no means should it see tons of play. 2.5 3 - This card is solid. Will see a respectable amount of play from decks in it's colors, and isn't too limited in it's strategy. 3.5 4 - This card ... |
