The lady/hawke and her knight/wolf are effectively one player with two characters.

Without Ladyhawke he would be completely a straight fighter the relationship of the two gives an arcane warp to the character and is very like him having a Familiar in both form and function (A gallant Hawk familiar works pretty well for a fighter). It might even be appropriate to give him some feats that enhance her influence in the battle.

When the lady is active the Navarre is still the combatant. The wolf is her Rangers companion. She may be able to point out openings for an ally or dive behind them granting them an extra attack opportunity but otherwise its a big black wolf attacking with her focused on the fight but not accomplishing much else.

[/sblock] Building him as a halfling allows him to squeeze through impossibly small holes

Phillipe Gastone is pretty close to being a pacifist. He might have fatigued and knocked out a few minions and apologized when his poor intimidation move (which he stubbornly keeps trying throughout the story) cut a villain definitely a thief but (not a striker in style that is why he has underhanded tactics to take the bite out) hybrided with appropriately flavored warlord - his cheering up both the other heros/hero is actually a a very dominant feature of the character and the story line. Their curse wears on them in a way very like losing healing surges.

Duelists Flurry Phillipes way ... you threaten your enemy with your blade then run around in circles and exhaust them the two of you end up in different places than you were... a minion might end up keystone cop crashing into something dangerous like a camp fire or accidentally impaling and freaking out Phillipe just a little.

The movie was full of him doing skill challenges that is for sure. His battle scenes even felt like him engaging in a skill challenge to escape (hey I dont have any companion heros to hide behind or warn or any of those things ... I am getting out of dodge - almost a straight warlord might work)
