Items: Psionics Toolkit
Ring:
  • Alliance Band (AV2) – This item is more suited to a melee leader type than a ranged controller.
  • Amethyst Band of Invisible Eyes (AV) – A very nice item that allows you greater flexibility when placing your area attack disciplines.
  • Avandra’s Ring (AV2) – The unfettered stride feat in a ring combined with a daily power that keeps you mobile. Better for melee types, but you can certainly get some mileage out of it.
  • Banquet Ring (AV) – Protection from poison is pretty situational.
  • Blink Ring (AV) – The +3 item bonus to thievery is probably a waste, but being able to teleport around for an encounter a day could be pretty handy.
  • Bloodshard Ring (AV2) – Maybe I'm missing something, but this ring seems like a trap. Why anyone would want to lose 5 hit points and not get some super awesome effect is beyond me.
  • Bone Ring of Better Fortune (AV) – Protection from necrotic damage and effects is pretty situational.
  • Chameleon Ring (AV) – Pretty nice if you're optimizing stealth.
  • Cognizance Ring (AV) – Protection against effects with the charm, fear, illusion and psychic keywords is decent. You might be better off with a more generic ring of protection unless you find yourself up against these types of effects often.
  • Crown of the Dream King (AV2) – Similar to the alliance band, but it's daily power is more situational.
  • Dauntless Champion’s Ring (AV2) – Super high level, but the ability to get powers back is pretty powerful. It's too bad that the powers you get back are determined randomly.
  • Death Song Ring (AV2) – This ring might be useful if you're playing a revenant psion. Why you're doing that though, I'm not sure.
  • Death Spiral Ring (AV2) – Resistance to necrotic damage as a property is nice, although it doesn't scale. It seems to be that the item's daily power is better suited to a class that is trained in heal.
  • Eladrin Ring of Passage (KTW) – Adding distance to your teleports might be handy if the kineticist build has a lot of teleporting powers. Teleporting as a daily power could come in handy, but you should probably only consider this item if you're an eladrin.
  • Golden Ring of Teros (AV2) – The +2 item bonus to AC and fortitude as a property is very nice. The daily power gives you a huge bonus to hit against the first enemy to damage you and gets even better if you've reached a milestone.
  • Grace Ring of Lightning (AV2) – An item bonus to saving throws against some of the nastier effects is decent, but a generic bonus of a ring of protection is probably better. The encounter power is a consolation prize for rounds when you're stunned or for whatever reason didn't attack.
  • Grace Ring of Prowess (AV2) – Similar to the grace ring of lightning except the item's encounter power gives you a +2 power bonus to attack rolls during your next turn. Psions who take the divine oracle paragon path will probably use the encounter power every combat.
  • Grace Ring of Salvation (AV2) – Yet another grace ring. This one's encounter power gives you a +5 power bonus to your next saving throw. Excellent for when you get stunned.
  • Grace Ward Ring (AV2) – Of all the grace rings, this one's encounter power is the weakest. Still, pushing an adjacent creature 1 square does sometimes have its uses.
  • Greater Ring of Invisibility (AV2) – A +5 item bonus to stealth is nice, but only if you've trained in stealth (which you probably aren't). The minor action invisibility for two turns as an encounter power is very nice though. After a milestone, this ring becomes almost as good as a shadow band.
  • Haggaron’s Ring of Control (AV2) – A +4 item bonus (more against fey creatures) to two class skills is nice. The item's daily power is combos up very nicely with several psion daily powers including mind blast and soul break.
  • Kartan’s Void Ring (AV2) – This ring, although interesting is more suited to a striker.
  • Iron Ring of the Dwarf Lords (PHB) – The property is nice since you probably won't have that many healing surges. The daily power is a bit situational, however it the right situation it is nice.
  • Nullifying Ring (AV) – This ring is super sweet, but also super expensive. It's a serious upgrade from the generic ring of protection.
  • Opal Ring of Remembrance (AV) – The property alone makes this ring amazing. You're probably not going to get any use out of the item's daily power unless you've multiclassed into an arcane class and taken the acolyte power feat.
  • Premonition Ring (AV) – Not a back pick, but the items bonuses to passive perception and initiative aren't going to stack with other item bonuses.
  • Primordial Ring (D159) – The property is pretty useless, but resistance 10 variable for an encounter a day is nice.
  • Psychic's Ring (PHB3) – Having an additional use of send thoughts can be pretty handy if your DM is strict about communication during battle.
  • Ring of Adaptation (AV) – The ring's property is pretty underwhelming, but the reactive resistance to elemental damage daily power could come in handy.
  • Ring of Action Reversal (AV2) – A +4 item bonus to initiative is very nice. However, you will get limited use of this item's daily power since psions don't get encounter attack powers.
  • Ring of Agile Thought (AV2) – Being able to shake of nasty effects even if they normally don't allow saving throws is a very nice daily power. The item's properties aren't bad either.
  • Ring of Battlements (AV2) – As a ranged controller, you should be able to attack from cover fairly often making this item's property pretty nice. The item's daily power is nice for creating your own cover.
  • Ring of Dimensional Escape (MOTP) – Might be a decent pick if the kineticist build has a lot of teleporting powers. The daily item power isn't that great unless you've reached a milestone, then it's not bad. Consider the eladrin ring of passage instead.
  • Ring of Draconic Zeal (D365) – A +2 item bonus to intimidate and a daily power that allows a free basic attack. Not bad if you've picked up a discipline that can be used as a ranged basic attack.
  • Ring of Eladrin Grace (AV2) – Another grace ring. This one's encounter power allows you to teleport in exchange for not attacking. Seems highly situational.
  • Ring of Enduring Earth (AV2) – Similar to the ring of agile thought except this one isn't as well suited for your class. If you're concerned about forced movement, consider taking the steadfast stanchion discipline instead.
  • Ring of Fearlessness (AV2) – Fear effects are way too situational for you to consider this high level item.
  • Ring of Fey Travel (AV) – A +1 item bonus to speed is nice. As is teleporting as a minor action once a day.
  • Ring of Flight (PHB) – Taking no damage from a fall and always landing on your feet is situationally useful. Gaining a fly speed for one or two turns is nice, but not really necessary.
  • Ring of Focus (AV2) – Right now, there's only one psion disciple that requires you to sustain it. This item will more than likely increase in value as more disciplines are published.
  • Ring of Freedom of Movement (PHB) – The property isn't that great since you'll most likely be dumping acrobatics, but the item's daily power is a great mobility booster which becomes better if you've reached a milestone.
  • Ring of Free Time (AV2) – Resist 5 damage as a property is very nice, even though you shouldn't be taking too much damage. The item's encounter power seems pretty powerful, however you don't have a lot of minor actions that could make full use of this item's potential.
  • Ring of Fury (D366) – Like the ring of draconic zeal except this one is cheaper. Also allows two basic attacks, but only triggers when you are first bloodied. Becomes better if you're also wearing the belt of fiends, which is an OK item.
  • Ring of the Ghost Knight (D365) – A +5 item bonus to saving throws against fear is OK. The real value in this item is the daily power which gives concealment and a ghost knight protector that can get enemies off you.
  • Ring of Guarded Will (AV2) – A +2 item bonus to will should make that defense very hard to hit. Unfortunately that means the item's daily power is less likely to come into play.
  • Ring of Heroic Insight (AV) – A +3 item bonus to insight is solid. But, the boost to attacks and damage once a day makes this great a great pick.
  • Ring of Hrumdar’s Halls (AV2) – A big boost to a class skill, but the item's daily power is pretty situational.
  • Ring of Influence (AV2) – A +2 item bonus to charisma based skill and ability checks is nice. The daily power gives you a nice power bonus to attacks versus will, which you will probably have a lot of as a psion.
  • Ring of Invigoration (D364) – A +2 item bonus to a non-class skill is pretty weak, but being able to spend a healing surge when you hit 0 hit points once a day is pretty sweet.
  • Ring of Invisibility (PHB) – Everyone can benefit from invisibility. A +2 item bonus to stealth is only likely to help those trained in stealth though.
  • Ring of Khirad (AV2) – A +5 item bonus to insight and perception checks is pretty solid. Being able to see invisible creatures is nice, albeit situational. The item's power is a bit wonky but, if you find yourself fighting a lot of invisible creatures, it could be handy.
  • Ring of Mental Power (PHB3) – An extra power point every encounter for free is pretty awesome. The daily power is also great, allowing you to either regain power points for a missed attack or a reroll if you've reached a milestone.
  • Ring of Protection (PHB) – A solid pick for the +1 item bonus to saving throws. The item's daily power may also come in handy.
  • Ring of Ramming (AV) – Might be good for a kineticist.
  • Ring of Regeneration (PHB) – Everyone can benefit from an increased healing surge value. The power is nice, but consider that trading a daily item power use for a healing surge isn't usually worth it. It does become better once you've reached a milestone though.
  • Ring of Retreat (AV) – This ring is like 3rd edition word of recall. Nice for getting you (and potentially your group) out of a jam.
  • Ring of Sorrows (AV2) – There currently aren't any psion powers with the fear keyword, but the item's property may be useful if you've multiclassed into warlock. The item's daily power is an interesting form of control, but may be difficult to use effectively.
  • Ring of Sympathy (AV2) – This item is more suited for a character optimizing saves and/or a warden.
  • Ring of Tenacious Will (AV) – Healing surges a helpful, but not overly so. The ring's daily power is handy, but not as nice as the cheaper ring of invigoration.
  • Ring of the Dragon Emperor (AV) – Might be useful for a kineticist, but probably not since psions don't get encounter powers.
  • Ring of the Phoenix (AV) – Resistance to fire is OK, but it's the ring's daily power that makes this item worthwhile. Similar to the ring of invigoration and ring of tenacious will, but better and more expensive.
  • Ring of the Risen (AV2) – Might be useful for a revenant psion, although revenenants aren't exactly optimal psions.
  • Ring of the Spectral Hand (AV) – Resist 10 radiant is pretty weak. But, casting any power as a free action once a day is pretty awesome.
  • Ring of Traded Knowledge (AV2) – I don't think they were expecting at-will attack powers that were higher than 1st level when this item was created. Needless to say this ring is pretty sweet for psions.
  • Ring of True Seeing (PHB) – A solid pick for defending against creatures with some sort of concealment (including invisibility). The +2 item bonus to perception is also nice although it won't stack with other item bonuses.
  • Ring of Unfettered Motion (AV2) – This ring is along the same lines as the ring of agile thought and ring of enduring health except the bonus is to reflex defense and the power protects you from conditions that hamper movement.
  • Ring of Unwelcome Gifting (AV2) – While the property and power of this item is neat, ongoing damage is situational enough that this item isn't that practical.
  • Ring of Windows (AV2) – Although psions don't have any teleportation powers yet, the release of the second build may make this ring useful.
  • Ritualist's Ring (AV) – Great for reducing the cost of non-creation rituals. Doesn't reduce the cost of the enchant magic item ritual though. Not worth the price unless you cast a ton of rituals.
  • Rom Kala’s Tideshield Ring (AV2) – Only if you're playing in an aquatic themed game.
  • Shadow Band (AV) – Concealment as a static effect is great. Total concealment for one encounter a day (if you've reached a milestone) is awesome. Top pick.
  • Shadowfell Signet (AV2) – Might be useful if you find yourself facing a lot of undead.
  • Sorrowsworn Ring (AV) – Darkvision and a +4 item bonus to intimidate aren't bad as static effects. The ring's daily power is OK, but as a controller it's probably better after you've reached a milestone.
  • Star Opal Ring (PHB) – Not a bad item since a +1 item bonus to speed is nice. A 10 square teleport as a move action once a day is OK, but if you've reached a milestone you have to be careful since the attack can hit your allies.
  • Star Ruby Ring (AV) – The ring's property is pretty weak and the daily power is only useful during a skill challenge. Not overly exciting.
  • Stone Band (AV2) – You shouldn't be taking enough hits for this ring to be worth it.
  • Stormcatcher Ring (AV2) – Nice themed ring, however thunder and lighting damage is situational enough that this item probably won't come into play often.
  • Unvanquished Grace Ring (AV2) – The final grace ring in the line and this one is by far the most underwhelming.
  • War Ring (AV) – You're probably not going to be optimized for critical hits unless you've taken the cerulean adept paragon path. Even then, there's probably better rings out there for you.
