His foot steps got lighter as he heard the beginnings of an interesting converstion.  Sever slid to the door, his feet barely leaving the ground as he made his way to an entrance to the galley, his ears perked up as he listened in on what seemed to be one of his new comrades, Z, and the captain.  I wonder what juicy information I can glean from this, he thought, never one to give up the chance to know those around him, be them friend or foe, as friends could become foes.

After breakfast and the toast to a good journey, Leon looked around the room at the adventures and the boat's captain. "Sir, where would a large open area be on the boat, something under the deck." the captain stroked the stubble on his chin, without a word, he made a hand motion to the aft of the boat. Leon stated with a bit of challange in his voice, "If anyone wants to join me, I will be doing some weapons practice in the rear of the ship." Leon then took time to change into some of his more worn in clothes. Leon then starts to do some streches and waits to see if anyone follows him.

I have been totally slacking this week. Been busy with the creation and not paying enough attention to the maintenance. Data: The captain will have an answer for you by tomorrow night at the latest (though tonight is a possibility).

The captain appears aggrivated for a moment before heaving a sigh and leaning back against the bulkhead. With the strong wind the oars had been shipped and the galley was empty, "I've been knowin he wanted a story from me. Had I known what it was ye'd likely have gotten it sooner. I'm supposin' yer one o' them that lived there but weren't there when it all happened, aye?"

The captain pauses and you give a slight nod, after which he begins anew, "I'm the years since it happened I've ne'er seen a survivor from that massacre. Met some few folk like ye'self, weren there when it happened, came back to find ever'thing destroyed. All wonder the same thing; what could have happened. Aye, and I've known many a man who claims to know exactly what happened there, though none o' the claims match up to one another. nay, I don' think anyone knows what happened there, 'cept for those that did it. Theories though, theories abound. Did you know that when Degrazi was first founded, they had to clear out a whole settlement of Gnolls? Some sayin t'were them come to get their land back. Don't make no sense though, why wouldn't they stay if they came to take their land back? Nay, I dun believe t'were Dagrazi Gnolls what perpetrated this. If'n I had to guess, i'd say t'were something much more sinister, though we may never know what."

This is the most you've heard the captain speak at once time since you've been aboard the ship, and he seems quite relieved to be done speaking, with a quick nod of his head, he's off once more.

Kedrik is at 100xp.

Also it took me like 10 minutes to puzzle out why the galley (kitchen) would be empty if the oars were not being used.  Stupid nautical terms having multiple meanings grumble grumble.

At some point Z makes a fool of himself because somebody tells him to look starboard and he starts searching the boards beneath his feet for a star.

"I can't find that star you were talking about."  Z says lifting each foot and looking beneath them.

"Greetings Rors, on this fine morning," Morgan says in a chipper voice from his dark recess in the cargo hold.

"Eh yeah," the bugbear says, "How is it that I manage to turn a tidy profit, while you are stuck hold up in a crate in a dark corner of the ass end of my ship, and I still feel like I'm getting the short end of stick."

Morgan steps out from his hiding spot behind the large crate he boarded in. Beglow watched him struggle to light the tiny candle that had been acting as his only source light since he boarded the ship. "Rors! You really hurt my feelings when you say such things. We have worked togather for a long time, have I ever sought your help and you didn't end up with a purse full of gold?" After a momentary pause to wait for the large goblins objection Morgan continued, "I assure you this time is no different. As you and I well know no good deed goes unpunished. The band of Muls I lead across the Golden's burning sun made the trip to the Nera mountains with only the most minor of incidents."

Morgan finally manage to light the meager little candle and as the light bathed the rear section of the cargo hold he was able to see the accusatory glare the large bugbear leveled at him. After another infuriating little judgmental grunt Beglow says , "I don't suppose the regalia has anything to do with you being shipped aboard in a box?"

Dreaming the Impossible Dream Show
Imagine a world where the first-time D&D player rolls stats, picks a race, picks a class, picks an alignment, and buys gear to create a character. Imagine if an experienced player, maybe the person helping our theoretical player learn the ropes, could also make a character by rolling ability scores and picking a race, class, feat, skills, class features, spells or powers, and so on. Those two players used different paths to build characters, but the system design allows them to play at the same table. -Mearl

While standing on deck Regdar gathers Leon, Sever and Z. "We need a name for our team.  I saw some blue cloth that we could make arm or head bands from.  I suggest we be come "The Blue Band", "we do missons from the Gods"
