That would be interesting... though I thought we were avoiding combining the modern religions with the ancient ones?

I thought we were just avoiding using the modern religions altogether actually. Thats why I suggested combining them, so Gabrielle wouldn't be as easily recognized as a Christian mythological figure.

LOL, and here I was thinking we were going to use the angels and such on their own - because it would keep the modern religions separate and still allow them to have God, but with the angels and such as the "deities" for Clerics and such.

I think we agreed somewhere back to keep the modern religions out of it and to focus more on the ancient gods. We could still use mythological figures from Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, but just change their flavor so they are no more Christian than the angels from the Monster Manual are.

I think Cobalt is right about using modern figures, but obscuring them. We can rename Gabriel. I have no problem combining him with Athena too. The mythology I wrote using him could work well.
I really like the Poseidon+Aphrodite idea, but we already have a CN god of love. I think we need to allow a little more branching out so that there is a little more choice for our gods. Can we aim for a neutral good deity or something for them? Or, can we change Zept at all?

Ah, roger, I'm tracking.

Stolen from your previous post, added the alignments:

Athena/Gabriel - LG

Ardia - NG
Goddess of Animals, Young Women and Elves
Domains: Animals, Good, Protection, Liberation
Favored Weapon: Longbow

Lorazl - NG
God of the Sun and Healing
Domains: Sun, Healing, Air, Good
Favored Weapon: Morningstar

Aphrodite/Poseidon - CG

Osides - LN
God of the Dead
Domains: Death, Law, Darkness, Repose
Favored Weapon: Scythe

Eracatis - N
Goddess of the Moon, Magic, and Marriage
Domains: Magic, Knowledge, Nobility, Travel
Favored Weapon: Dagger

Zept - CN
God of Storms and Love?
Domains: Charm, Air, Weather, Chaos
Favored Weapon: Spear

Hermes/Anansi - CN

Sekhmet/Hel - NE

Loki/Set - CE

I think the Hephestus god would fall under LG or LN, so we're really only "missing" a LE deity to cover all alignments. Obviously, we'll have overlap, but I like how it's shaping up! :D

Well, Zept isn't important to keep really. I imagine he would have become a lesser god by now. Probably not one worshiped by PC's. We can change his love aspect to lust though.

I don't mind overlapping the alignments - keeping Zept the way he is is fine, keeping him a PC god is cool, though maybe an emphasis on lust might be more interesting.

Exactly - it fits his history more than love. He certainly wasn't driven by love, the horny old goat! And don't forget Bards, too!
