Just so everyone knows, I will be away for 2 weeks starting this Friday. Replace me if you need to. We are going to the Grand Canyon for our first Family vacation.
If you don't return after 2 weeks, I'll assume you fell in. :P

I'm a lot more lax on things durring the summer months, so I don't see a problem.
Lots of visitors up at the Canyon this time of year. And if you are flying in, Phoenix is supposed to be 116F this weekend. As always, I recommend the mule trip for first timers at the canyon, but you have to reserve that 6+ months in advance.
