Gilgiga ran, this had been his second day away from camp, and now he figured it was time to head back. His body was bare except for the skin of the stag over his shoulders. Everywhere he could feel the scratch of thorns and brambles. The earth under his bare feet was callious and unforgiving. For the past day he had kept his energy up for the run with nothing but berries harvisted from the earth, and blessed by the good mother.
At his side Earl flew. Wingovers and flips throughly enjoying the sprit of Gilgiga's run. The eagle let out a cry as Gilgiga made the final turn on the loop back twards the camp.
Through Gilgiga's mind only one thing bothered him. How much the skin weiged saturated in his sweat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The fawn stood seperated from its heard. Things had been off ever sence the bizzare preator took the stag. Panic and terror ruled. The fawn was just glad to be alone in a glade with no one to bother him, just eating with no cares. Beyond the glade the predator reveled in his discovery. There alone, not stag, no heard, stood the fawn, unsupescting, unknowing.
The puma let out a scream, and the fawn was overwhelmed with terror and fear, unable to run, frozen to the spot as the puma lept twards him. Yet in the middle of his pounce the puma felt something hit his side like a ton of rocks. Dazed and confused it returned to its feet to see the new contender for the fawn. The Orc man stood tall before him, and in his hands was a fearsome weapon of steel. The Puma was forced to admit that his match had been met. With a hiss the puma returned to the deeps of the woods.
Gilgiga turned to watch the fawn head off twards its heard, and thought to himself.
"I have repayed my dept to you, now go little fawn, grow stong and take your fathers place."
And so Gilgiga himself turned to head back twards Garic's City.Spoiler:
*Jace walks out of the gates greeting a good morning to the gaurds, and continues into the forest on a search for good fire wood. Wary and listening he finds several pieces that would do. But he continues to gather more and more. Until it would take two trips for him to return with the all the wood.*
.oO(I may be up again tonight.)
*Jace places the remainder of the wood next to a tree he can find again and sets off back for Ms. Weatherby's*
After a long walk to the gates, Driden finally exits the city and makes his way into the nearby trees. A short while after, Driden stumbles upon a small river.
Ahh there ya go...*hic*...*burp*
After dropping his pack and sword, Driden walks into the river with the lure in hand. After a long moment of staring at his lure then to the river and back, Driden realizes his little problem.
No rod...*hic*or stirng...
With a shrug, the sorceror walks back to his pack and pulls out a bottle of wine.
I can always imagine it...*hic*
He then takes a step towards a nearby tree and sits up against it. After a swig of wine, he looks out towards the river and falls back into deep thought.
After draining nearly half the bottle of the wine, Driden manages to get up and pick up his belongings. After a long stumble through the forest, he somehow makes his way back to the city gates. Stashing the bottle back in his pack, Driden enter the city without any problems.
*Jace walks out of the gates with his head bowed and face thoughtful.*
.O(That was a bit strange...perhaps I did actually fall into some sort of meditaion in the inn. But there is just too much distraction in there. I may be able to do it in the future but not yet....I also need to learn elven. Imagin an elf that doesn't speak elven...)
"Humph..."
*Jace finds himself near to where he had gathered the wood for Mrs. Weatherby. Jace wanders a bit and finds the pill of excess wood that he had gathered and looks around. He sees some animal tracks on the ground where they came to investigate this strange gathering of wood.*
.oO(I'm suprized that no humans found this and used it for themselves...)
*Without much other thought Jace kneels down on the ground and once again clears his mind and tries to find his own place in his mind.*
***
*After some time Jace stops and stands up. He feels a bit better and his body seems to be rested somewhat. With a smile Jace stands and gathers the remaining wood minus a few pieces because there isn't enough room in his arms. Laiden with almost his own weight in wood, Jace sets off for the city staggering under the load.*
*Not very tired from his lazy day in the forge rubing oils and breaking in the leather, Jace doesn't feel much for fatiuge. In fact he feels fairly alive. Sitting and doing nothing for the last several hours must have been the doing. In a odd mood Jace speaks to the cool clean air beside himself*
"Its a nice night isn't it."
*Smileing to himself Jace wanders into the tree line looking for nothing in particular...something to draw his mind away from his restlessness.*
After a few hours of aimless wandering Jace begins to feel his long day. Slightly put out at his lack of success in his odd treasure hunt Jace heads home.
Sliverny False-Eye stares dumbly at her feet as she puts one infront of the other. She stops for a breather, blessing her gnomish constitution, and leans against a tree.
. o O (How blasted far could one city be?)
Pulling a large text from her satchel, she flips through the pages. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Maybe my most powerful spells... No, no, no, no, maybe, no, no, no, maybe but probably not." Exaggerated sigh.
Pushing herself up off the ground, Sliverny stuffs the tome back into the satchel, hoists it over her shoulder, and begins trudging again. Half an hour later she crests a grassy hill and looks down finally on Garic's City.
. o O (That's not as big as I expected.)
The gnome falls back onto her butt (a very short fall) and stares at the town up to her hips in grass.
. o O (Well, there is a tower there, I suppose that'd be the mage's tower. And a wall, so it's reliably safe. Safer than the forest at least.)
She rattles her component pouch and mentally tallies her spell matrices.
. o O (Nothing useful but Prismatic Spray and Atropy Ray left anyways. At least they rhyme. 'The very brave gnome held evil at bay, with prismatic spray and atropy ray... something something something.' Still, the town looks very hustly bussely. I'm sure I can find a nice quiet, private place if I try.)
Another exaggerated sigh.
"Get ready you city you, I'm coming your way."
Pushes off again and marches down the hill towards the walls.
