Oh, right. Almost forgot about Scoundrel. Add the +2 dmg to Righteous Brand.

The earlier use of the Flute to play the Song of Triumphant Praise: Granted the benefits of an extended rest to the adventurers.

The rain drips down in a steady light rainfall, as Drevven plays a few practice notes. Then he begins. The forest is filled with this mystic Song of Triumphant Praise. The notes vibrate thru the forest, echoing far and wide. Drevven finds that this mystic song has divergent points, and he carefully seeks those that seem the most appropriate for a nature theme since his audience is a great treant.

The music is enchanting to the soul, and sooths the adventurers. Squirrels scramble down the tree trunks. Rabbits hop out of the bushes, and deer appear in the tree shadows. A mockingbird lands on Drevven’s cap and mimics the song.

{So everyone is back at full strength.}

Collecting and imputing all these nice character builder imports!
Everything worked great and was easy to implement.
Thank You all very much!

{Yar is allowed a bonus language (as the PHB 2 added a language for Longtooth Shifters.}

I will think about sending out a PM to possibly recruit a player or two.
It looks like Thot will return on the 17th but the WotC boards will shut down for a boards upgrade on the 18th for about a week.
So, onward, forward…

{Yar has the best athletics skill modifier.}

Kratelss steps forward, “No treant should be subject to such cowardly attacks, nor should fear blemish your lives here in the forest when Bahamut looks down upon evil."
Yar pulls a clawed hammer out of his backback and hands it to Kratelss.
Kratelss takes it and places the claw of the hammer around one of the necrotic spikes. He says a prayer, blessing the hammer, then motions for Yar to take hold of it.
Kratelss takes the metal bar from Yar and prepares to assist him.

With a pull and a thrust of his strong arms, this cleric of Balinor tugs upon the evil spikes.
The spider webbing around the spikes crackles and sparks.
With a grunt and a huff, Yar strains at the clawed hammer while Kratelss strains with the metal bar.
A small explosion occurs as Kratelss and Yar tumble forward and something metallic flies thru the air.
Sulfuric smoke fills the air as the adventurers cough and choke.
{The adventurers each lose one healing surge due to the necrotic explosion.}
Glosateame groans but stands firm.

Shaashj quickly locates the evil spike which is now a dull iron spike. The necrotic symbols are gone, but Shaashj does not touch it as he wonders aloud if it is still dangerous?

Kratelss picks himself up and prepares to help pull out the second spike.
Snap flaps his wings and blows the sulfuric smoke cloud away.

The raindrops tumble from the sky, high overhead, as thunder rumbles from the north.

Again, the strong paladin flexes his muscles, then looks at Yar
{Yar needs to make two athletics checks for the remaining two necrotic spikes.}

It's not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don't even exercise.

Yar stretches the kinks out of his back and neck as he shakes off the results of the necrotic energy surge. His hands still a little numb from the previous attempt, he nevertheless prepares to pull out the second stake when Kratelss sets the prybar in place. He braces himself, flexes his muscles, heaves with all his might, and ends up flat on his back on the ground as his hands slip from the hammer.

Athletics: 2+5(str)+3(lvl)+2(racial)=12 (no armor check penalty, as his armor is currently banished until needed)

At this point, Yar takes a few minutes to rest and recover. While he is a naturally strong athlete, he is not trained for this sort of thing. "My apologies, great Glosateame. Pulling that first stake must have taken more out of me than I thought. I'm afraid I need a moment to recover."
2nd attempt Show
If Yar gets another attempt on the 2nd stake:

After a short rest, Yar heaves himself up and prepares to try again. Nodding to Kratelss to once more wield the prybar, he braces himself, takes a strong grip on the hammer, and pulls with a loud growl.

Athletics: 10+5(str)+3(lvl)+2(racial)=20
3rd attempt Show
Applied to either the 2nd stake if the 2nd attempt failed - and assuming he even gets to try again - or the 3rd stake if it succeeded.

Athletics: 12+5(str)+3(lvl)+2(racial)=22
language Show
I had selected Draconic for his bonus language. It should already be on the character sheet. Do I get another bonus language on top of that?

The adventurers prepare for the worst, now that they know these necrotic spikes explode.

Trillion, Bellena, and Snap carefully adjust the arcane spider webs, by adding more texture and strength.

Then the other adventurers back off, while Yar and Kratelss prepare to remove the last two necrotic spikes.
The first try involves much straining and struggle with results.
Taking a short break, Yar and Kratelss prepare and regain their focus.

When Yar apologizes, the great treant replies, Oh, little one, failure brings new opportunities. When we fail, we learn. When we learn, we grow. When we grow, our leaves stretch to the skies.

Persistence pays well. Please try again!

Regaining his confidence, Yar tries again. The cleric and the paladin strain and grunt as they again struggle against the necromancy of the evil spikes. Sparks fly as the arcane webbing subdues the necromantic powers. Finally with a valiant pull, the second spike comes loose and flies upward, exploding in mid air.

Shaashj hunts for the second spike, but finally concludes that the explosion destroyed it.
Xigna nods, Indeed!

The adventurers take a deep breath, glad that the explosion did not harm them.

Glosateame stretches his top branches, and speaks I feel more limber.

With a determined nod, Kratelss positions the pry bar around the last spike. The rain drums upon the treetops, as Yar tackles the last spike, straining and grunting as the divine pair struggle to overcome the necromancy of the evil spikes. Sparks hiss in the rainfall as the arcane webbing barely controls the necromantic powers. Suddenly with a valiant pull, the third spike comes loose and flies upward, exploding in mid air as Yar and Kratelss tumble onto the forest floor.

Dirt clods fly about as the great treant stretches his roots and thanks the adventurers, Littles ones, you have sprouted blossoms of hope within my heart. The great Glosateame thanks ee. May the raindrops fall gently upon you, and may golden sunshine guide your way.

More dirt clods fly about as Glosateame uproots the ground, investigating the dirt below his roots.
Half a dozen red heavy clay pots appear as well as three locked iron treasure chests.
Glosateame shakes his branches in disapproval, Glosateame is not cellar like the innkeeper built! Glosateame is glorious treant, not storage building.

Monster Manuel Longtooth Shifter had only Common for languages.
The newer PHB2 version upgraded to grant Common plus a bonus language.
This campaign also grants a bonus language.
So now Yar knows Common and two bonus languages.

The WotC boards are undergoing an upgrade starting tomorrow.
We will continue this game as soon as the boards are functioning again.

Trillion is a bit shocked with how much stuff was buried under the poor treant and can empathize with it for being upset by it.

Let me check out the items forst and determine if anything gives off magical auras.

Trillion will take his time and study each item carefully.

Arcana: 27 (He takes 10 on the check.)
Wash: "Yeah well, if she doesn't give us some extra flow from the engine room to offset the burn through, this landing is gonna get pretty interesting."

Mal: "Define interesting."

Wash: "Oh god oh god we're all gonna die?"

Mal: "This is the captain. We have a...little problem with our engine sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then...explode."

After the strenuous effort of releasing the great Treant of those evil forces, Kratelss felt like Bahamut had smiled upon his endeavours. He rejoiced greatly interiorly, and promised himself to keep on being a worthy representant of the Platinum Dragon.

I'm back, and will try to catch as best I can, and the boards allow... Thanks for NPCing Kratelss, Charity. I'd have hated for him to slow things down.

First : Level 8 magic item. No idea yet, checking.

Second : conversion to DD Builder. I don't have it, so someone would have to do it for me. Sorry And since I don't have it, I don't know its limitations, so... As for the Background, I'll take the "Prophecy" Birth background, PHB2, p179, for a +2 to Religion checks. Kratelss was born in a gleaming platinum egg

Third : On the subject of the Blade of Bahamut, I can see several solutions.
a : take two items (Blade + Symbol), and stick with it till Kratelss reaches level 17.
b : take another existing item, of the proper level, and merely reflavor it. I have none forthcoming yet, but will look into it.
c: if the DDB allows it, give Kratelss the level 19 weapon, and add an ad hoc penalty to make up for it.
d : pester Customer Service till they make it work for custom items

Fourth : Three changes. Since the release of Divine Power, there are changes I've considering, yes. Among them :
a : AW1 : Virtuous Strike (DP, p83) instead of Bolstering Strike (PHB, p92)
b : E1 : Valorous Smite (DP, p84) instead of Shielding Smite (PHB, p92)
c: possibly a feat, not sure yet.

Fifth : Level up. Woot ! :D Onto it.

If I've forgotten anything, please let me know. Thanks

I've chosen the 8th level item I'd like. It would be the Boots of Quickness (+1 Ref Defense) from AV.

As for the rest, I'll make the updates as I move to the next 'group'...
