________R_E_P_R_I_S_E________ [FONT="Arial Narrow"]KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC[/FONT]
The Jedi Order, having been brought close to extinction, is slowly being rebuilt. The few remaining Jedi explore the galaxy in search of those gifted with the Force.
In this time of rebuilding, scum and villainy prosper. Pirates have been intercepting goods meant for the people of Onderon. The Republic, still ailing from war, is powerless to intervene.
Drawn together by a mutual contact, a group of Force-users has arrived in the Onderon system, determined to settle the matter…
With a flash of light and a soft blue afterglow, our heroes emerge from hyperspace below the planet Onderon and begin ascending to approach the green orb. Seas and mountains gradually come into view as your starship, the Silver Dawn streaks towards the planet. The sleek ship got its name from the glossy hue that vibrates across the top of its chromium hull when it passes across a sun, as it is doing now.
A message is sent from the surface to your ship, and you open a comm channel to receive it. A small hologram in the figure of a handsome young human flickers from the comm’s projector. You all recognize him as the man who contacted you a couple days ago. He is the Viscount Klive Reith, a member of the Onderon Royalists and a born aristocrat. He is dressed in fine robes and his stance is that of one who does not know the meaning of the word 'hardship.' Gently stroking his well-groomed hair, he speaks. "On behalf of Queen Rellia and Her Royal Court, I humbly welcome you all to Onderon. I'm hoping that together we can resolve this crisis that is afflicting our world's economy, by driving out these pirate scum."
Told you I love Nobles. ^^
Introduce your characters, including level 2 stats. In addition, let’s decide right now who’s piloting the Dawn. Also, could I ask everyone to post in present tense, for the sake of consistency? I realize we’re not all best-selling authors here (or at least, I'm certainly not '^^), but just do your best to fill your posts with flavor.

A time of chaos is in the galaxy with wars rising on all fronts. Some seek power, some seek freedom, and some only seek survival. When one is confronted by the horrors of war and is victim to it's onslaught one can go either of two ways, give in to the bloody urges and become a child of the war, or rise above it and fight until the last breath to stop it. Ironic how one must fight to stop fighting.
Born almost a century before the first Sith war Kaa was subject to battles of all types. When a derelict slaver ship crashed on his home world those who would come to save them would capture numerous prides of the Yuzzem race, one which Kaa belonged to. It was around 25 years into his life when this happened, no longer a child but not nearly as worldly as the others. While returning from hyperspace in an unknown system the ship had been attacked by a Hutt force who seized the slaves in an effort to liberate them.
This one, Turlac the Hutt, was not like the others of his species. While he still engaged in illegal activities, one of the most despised was that of slavery. He always knew that those given there freedom would often return to work and would do so with better results than a slave. Less time was spent getting them to do what you wanted through force. Out of respect for the freeing of his people Kaa had struck a deal with the Hutt, he would work for him personally and use what skills he had in exchange for transporting the prides back to where they came from. Knowing that Kaa would be one to serve well the Hutt agreed.
At first Kaa did not agree with the operations of the Hutt but understood that he owed a debt and would do as told until the debt was paid. He would often post as security at social gatherings where often people would get out of hand. During weapons and spice smuggling operations he would represent the brute force that Turlac had at his disposal. In the time Kaa received accolades from the Hutt and was treated very well also by the others in the organization. Kaa had been growing powerful and used his assets to further the Hutt's cause. Finally the day came when he would repay his debt.
During the First Sith War one of the rival Hutt's sent a squad to eliminate Turlac but due to his direct actions Kaa saved him and suffered a few battle scars. The Hutt declared his debt paid off but having no where else to go Kaa stood by him. With war raging across the galaxy between the Sith and the Jedi Turlacs inclination was to help both sides to profit from each. Kaa did not agree with this and through several debates he talked Turlac into supporting the Jedi.
Kaa was deployed with many other soldiers in engagements against the Sith. Many would fall at his feet, their weapons and powers not being enough. Over the course of the war attacks from Sith strike forces increased on the Hutt's world of operation and soon Kaa had to retreat from his duties at the front lines to protect the one he worked for. Soon after the war ended but peace would not be long lasting.
When the Mandalorians first rose up Turlac was supporting them on many fronts. They were a strong group of people who fought bravely and Kaa admired that but soon the attacks on civilians in all systems made Turlac change his alliances to the Republic forces. While on a mission from Turlac to the planet of Tatooine Kaa ran into a Jedi who supported the Republic and he talked Kaa into directly aiding them and so he did thus working along side the Jedi once again under the leadership of the one who recruited him, Jedi Knight Revan.
Revan placed him under the command of a female Jedi General who was more capable then all the rest. Battle after battle had been won and Kaa grew respected among the Jedi and one even tried to train him in the ways but he cared little for the mystic arts but enjoyed training with lightsabers. She was a human aging around 30 whose lightsaber blade was a brilliant silver. In all the war he had fought never did he see a blade such as this but soon his mere serving with this woman turned into a love for her, one which was shared. Kaa and Lucretia together formed a formidable team.
Together they fought under the general and his training with the lightsabers continued. He had hoped to construct his own one day but without being able to focus on the force Kaa knew it would not happen so he had scavenged one from a battlefield and began to use it as his own and surprisingly many of the others found it natural to him to use such a weapon and none questioned it. The war continued onward and then it finally came to a head at Malachor V.
Fierce battles raged across the surface and the skies filled with raining debris from ships in orbit. Kaa along with his love were locked in fierce battles where both were mortally wounded but not without removing many of the enemy forces from the force before they were battered down. Just before the planet imploded on itself as per the order to activate the Mass Shadow Generator they were taken to the command ship medical bay where Kaa's life would change forever.
Laying in a bed beside him Lucretia was wounded worse than he. She had multiple blaster wounds and slugs that lay beneath her skin. In his giant paw he held her hand and when she died he let out a growl that shook the entire ship to it's core. The only one to ever be loved by him had died while at his side. It wasn't anger he felt, this was war after all, but regret that he couldn't have been with her once peace reigned in, assuming it ever would. On the same ship as the General who activated the device, Kaa carried the body of his love back to Dantooine where she would be buried at the Jedi Enclave along with her saber. Kaa then returned to Turlac to work for him again.
It took years for him to regain his strength and even then he wasn't what he was before Malachor V. Normally a dunk in a bacta tank is enough but due to the superweapon used it had more effect on him than most battle wounds would. He spent a lot of time in rehabilitation, regaining his use of weapons and combat skills. In the galaxy around him war broke out between the Jedi and Sith again and soon there would be but only a few Jedi left. Kaa had tried to save as many as he could but the Sith were powerful and soon the war concluded. Had he been as strong as he once was maybe he could have done more, maybe he could have helped his former General so she would not have to bear the brunt of it all herself. Regardless, Kaa remained in service of Turlac.
Again working for the Hutt was much like the first time he did so. Acting as a bouncer in cantinas during high profile visits to being muscle in trade deals Kaa keeps himself busy. Finally he decided to make a trip back to his homeworld where he would spend 10 years. It was empty for him though, something was missing since he seemed no longer to serve a purpose. Finaly he returned once again to Turlac who was glad to see him and he continues his services with him.
A large beast indeed. Brown fur covers his body with it being very dark brown covering his chest, hands, and feet. The left side of his face is scarred bad as well as numerous wounds decorating his body. Lightsaber and blaster bolt burns can be seen among his body from close combat duels during the previous wars. Always standing tall due to his proud nature he also shows a small smile toward people despite his often feared appearance.
"I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees!" A quote to best describe Kaa. He believes in honor and paying his debts though he will not be slave to anyone. Always wanting things to be fair in challenges among others he despises those who cheat to get ahead though indifferent to the illegal activities of the one he works for. Always willing to speak his mind he often gets ousted from negotiations due to his temper and quick tongue. Not one to say the right thing at the right time, rather he says what needs to be said. He feels friends are as close as family and will go to great lengths to protect them.
Did you want us to post all our characters first then after we've all done so go into action or what? Also, Kaa being a pilot is a bad idea, he's more prone into ramming targets unintentionally so someone else I hope has the skills. Oh one more thing, do we all know each other well then?
Ramanzel Ramasine was born to Princess Tara and Prince Jens of House Ramasine, the leading noble house of the lush planet Garqi, who have long warred with the House Borne. Always favored by her Uncle Kai and neglected by her parents, Ramanzel developed a close bond with her uncle. Around six years before the game takes place, Ramanzel learns of the death of her cousin, Lucien Ramasine, in battle with a Jedi. This results in her Uncle Kai, Lucien's father, giving up the siege on the Borne in grief. Ramanzel's father Jens sees this as a chance to convince Lord Demor, their father, that he should inherit the throne instead of Kai. Jens's request is denied and as punishment for attempting to exploit a Ramasine's loss, he is ordered to kill Ramanzel. Jens, still new to his father's teachings, refuses to take his daughter's life. The wrath of Lord Demor is swift, and Jens and Tara are slain. The next day, Ramanzel demands to know where her parents are, but receives no answer. She is later present at their funeral, but she does not weep.
Three years later, Ramanzel's Uncle allows a seventeen year old Ramanzel to enter a war meeting. Ramanzel, upon hearing of a general's plan to sacrifice novice troops in battle, speaks out in protest. Demor demands that Kai compete in a duel for bringing the indignant child with him, but when the duel begins, he finds himself dueling not the general, but Demor himself. Kai surrenders, unable to duel his own father. Demor, seeing this as weakness and disrespect, scars Kai, strips him of his birthright, and exiles him, under orders not to return until he can prove himself worthy of his respect.
Kai is a highly talented martial artist, and trains Ramanzel to be the same. In their exile, Kai explains to Ramanzel the dark history of House Ramasine, and their deep connections to Sith blood and power, and Demor's dual existence as Lord Manus, the Sith Lord. She is disgusted, and happy to help Kai in his crusade to bring down the dark House Ramasine. Kai despises the Jedi for the death of his son, and some of that carries over into Ramanzel, who takes up the name Anzel Gunn. Because of their dislike for Jedi, they turn to the only dependable order of warriors who would be willing to fight the House Ramasine without a large amount of credits; The Force Warriors.
Kai is already a Force Warrior, and returns to their hidden coven on a small planet in the Outer Rim to train Anzel there. They are more than happy to oblige, and Anzel begins her training under many masters. On Garqi, however, the Dark Lord Manus has seen the error in letting Kai and Ramanzel escape, and he sends Ramanzel's brother, Kayter, a loyal Sith apprentice, after the pair. Manus and Kayter are aware of Kai's Force tradition's hidden coven, and it is the first place they search. Kayter marches a batallion on the coven, and burns it to the ground. Anzel's body is never found, however, because she is away, gathering supplies for the coven from one of the bastions of civilization on the planet. She returns to find the village in smolders, with the batallion having moved on in search of her. Many of the Force Warriors are dead or dying, and Kai is among the latter. He dies in her arms that night, and she promises to destroy the House Ramasine. And with that, the forge of Destiny is fired up.
Manus is fighting a war on many fronts, and can't afford to have an entire batallion searching after a young woman. He is content to requisition Kayter's batallion back to the front line, and leave the 'clean-up hunt', as he calls it, to Kayter, himself. Anzel, having sworn to avenge her Uncle, flees the small planet, and continues to travel from planet to planet, never staying anywhere very long. She is a woman on the run, and it has to end soon.
Anzel believes that a person becomes strong by having to struggle and fight for what they want. She has said that she does not want to have good luck, because she feels she can control her own fate. This perception of the world always being set against her manifests itself as inflexible determination.
Anzel has numerous contradictory traits, beliefs, and behaviors. For example, she is domineering and controlling, a result of being raised as Ramasine royalty, and disdains working with people she believes are inferior to herself. Yet she adamantly refuses to view people as expendable.
Because the prospect of returning home has become impossible, due to her discovery of the treacheries of her family, she is marked by abject despair at having lost everything. She finds herself in perhaps the most dire situation possible--being hunted by her brother, Kayter, while attempting to survive as a penniless fugitive, living from space station to space station. Anzel has nothing, something she cannot seem to accept. At first, Anzel turns to robbery, even stealing from those who have been kind to her. After some time, however, Anzel gains a more reasonable outlook. Although theft is still necessary from time to time, she refuses to steal from already needy people, or people who have shown her kindness. She also defended a lone Sullustan against a group of thugs who terrorized the noble after having been appointed to protect him. Anzel becomes more patient, kind, precise, and calculating; traits necessary to evade Kayter's pursuit while staying incognito from local authorities.
These traits would became dominant after Anzel's training with the Force Warriors, as afterwards she displayed a more optimistic attitude towards life and the world. Anzel's newfound sense of humility and peace does give her the courage to ask her Uncle's forgiveness, however not the words to express it. She never would've been able to do so if she had not studied under the Force Warriors.
As she promised to her Uncle, Anzel is fated to one day destroy her renounced noble house, the House Ramasine. Many of the Ramasines study the works of the Sith, and a few of them are actual Sith Apprentices. The house has been corrupted by its foul head, Anzel's grandfather, Demor, who is also known as Darth Manus.
It's uncertain to her just how she'll go about destroying the house, but she will try, one way or another. Her training as a Force Warrior is a means to that end, as is pretty much anything else she does.
I personally nominate Torin for Pilot and T8 for Co-Pilot (if we need one). It seems both thematically and statistically appropriate. Anzel's far too busy firing the guns at the pursuers, after all. What? No, pursuers, you say? In due time, in due time... :D
Did you want us to post all our characters first then after we've all done so go into action or what? Also, Kaa being a pilot is a bad idea, he's more prone into ramming targets unintentionally so someone else I hope has the skills. Oh one more thing, do we all know each other well then?
My apologies. I was working under the Hecatomb default skin earlier, so I did not see this message until now. (Incidentally this is why I post OOC in blue, and it might be a good idea to post in a deeper color, just to make sure I don't miss it.) To answer your question, now that people have started posting, what I would like to see happen is after everyone's done posting their characters, they start taking actions and perhaps describe their characters' appearances while doing so. Let's give it a day. After that, those who have posted their characters can begin doing stuff, and the others hopefully will appear soon after.
Ability Modifiers: Str: 8 [Droids of small size subtract -2 from Strength] Dex: 14 [Droids of small size add +2 bonus to Dexterity] Con: - [Droids have no Constitution modifier] Int: 18 [2nd degree adds a +2 bonus to Intelligence] Wis: 12 Cha: 10 [2nd degree subtracts -2 to Charisma]
Talents: (The Outlaw Tech) Fast Repairs: (Standard 1st) Whenever you jury-rig an object or vehicle, the vehicle gains a number of temporary hit points equal to the result of your Mechanics check. Damage is subtracted from these temporary hit points first, and temporary hit points go away at the conclusion of the encounter.
Droid Traits: Abilities: Droids have no Constitution score, but at every 4th level they add +1 to two stats except for Constitution. Behavioral Inhibitors: Droids (except 4th-degree droids) cannot intentionally harm a sentient living being or knowingly allow a sentient living being to be harmed. Furthermore, all droids must follow orders given to them by their rightful owners, as long as those orders don't require the droid to harm a sentient living being. Droids with heuristic processors can sometimes violate these restrictions by creatively interpreting their behavioral inhibitions. Ion Damage Vulnerability: As electronic constructs, droids are vulnerable to damage from ion weapons. Generally, ion weapons have the same effect on droids that stun weapons have on living beings. Maintenance: Droids do not sleep, eat, or breathe. However, they do need to enter shutdown mode and recharge for 1 hour after 100 hours of operation. If a droid fails to do so, it must make an Endurance check each hour (Dc 10, +1 per additional hour after the first) or move -1 persistent step along the condition track. This persistent condition can only be removed by the droid recharging for 1 hour. Memory: A droid's trained skills, feats, and talents can be reassigned with the Use Computer skill, A droid hero can use its own Use Computer skill to perform this reprogramming, but it takes a -5 penalty on its skill check. If a droid is ever subjected to a complete memory wipe, it becomes a basic model of its type, losing any levels and abilities it gained. Nonliving: A droid is immune to poison, disease, radiation, noncorrosive atmospheric hazards, vacuum, mind-affecting effects, stunning effects, and any other effect that works only on living targets. Droids have no connection to the Force and can't gain the Force Sensitivity feat or learn Force powers. Droids do not have a Constitution score, so they don't get bonus hit points for having a high Constitution, and they apply their Strength modifier to their Fortitude Defense. Unlike living beings, droids don't "die" but they can be disabled or destroyed. If a droid is reduced to 0 hit points, it is disabled and cannot be reactivated until it is repaired so that it has at least 1 hit point. If the attack that reduced the droid to 0 hit points also exceeds the droid's damage threshold, the droid is destroyed instead. A destroyed droid cannot be repaired or salvaged. Repair: Droids can regain lost hit points only through the use of Mechanics skill. A droid can use this skill to repair itself, but it takes a -5 penalty on its skill check. Shut Down: A droid that is shut down can take no actions and is effectively unconscious. Shutting down a willing droid is a standard action. Shutting down an unwilling droid is more difficult, requiring that you grab the droid and then make a Mechanics check (DC = droid's Will Defense) as a standard action while it's grabbed. You cannot shut down an unwilling droid with locked access unless it is disabled or otherwise helpless. Skills: Droids normally cannot use any skill untrained except for Acrobatics, Climb, Jump, and Perception. A droid with a heuristic processor ignores this limitation. Systems: Droids can have many of their characteristics changed by installing or replacing existing systems. Automatic Language: Binary plus one language chosen by the designer (usually Basic).
System and Accessories: Heuristic Processor (Base Model System No Cost) 2x Arm Appendages with Hands (Base Model System No Cost) *2x Claws They are actually part of the hand appendage the thumbs on each hand unite with other two fingers to become a claw appendage. (80 credits) Tracked Droid (Base Model System No Cost) *Magnetic Feet (320 credits) Internal Comlink (250 credits) Diagnostics Package (250 credits) Internal Storage (250 credits 5kg max weight) Locked Access (50 credits) Secondary Battery (400 credits) Improved Sensor Package (200 credits) Darkvision (150 credits) Translator Unit DC 10 (1000 credits) 8x Tool Appendages (160 credits) Tool Kit (8 items from kit are attached to tool appendages electroshock probe, fusion cutter, hydrospanner, laser welder, power prybar, probe sensors, sonic welder, vibro cutters 250 credits)
Background: T8-K2 represents the industry and craft of two completely different generations. Long before he was heavily modified and reinvented by a Verpine master crafter and Jedi the droid was simply designated as a K2 model maintenance droid. These small droids were built in mass numbers and were delegated with the responsibility of cleaning up the debris found at various shipyards or war torn regions and moving valuable materials found in debris to set locations to be scrapped for future use. Many K2’s operated on an asteroid cleaning up the remnants of a major battle. Normally the labor they did was carefully monitored so when their task was completed the scrap was collected along with the droids when the time was right. The batch of droids assigned this task were never collected though. As the time approached for their rendezvous with the starship the hundreds of K2’s on the asteroid were abandoned as the ship was intercepted by a small convoy of space-faring pirates. They took the ship and its possessions and the K2’s never left their mission point. The programming for an early K2 model was fairly low-tech and the droids did little thinking on their own. When the main task was completed they looked around the asteroid for other things to collect for scrap collection. Eventually some of the droids began to malfunction and they too were collected and scrapped. Ultimately there was only a handful of the droids left numbering only about twenty-eight units. These final twenty-eight droids eventually had their systems fail and shutdown leaving them in various locations scattered around the surface of the asteroid. Many years later this asteroid was stabilized and added to the Verpine network. It was explored and the twenty-eight remaining droids were found and recovered by Verpine explorers. The Verpine love technology and are quick to use any ideas they deem an advancement on their own knowledge base. They enjoyed the simplicity of the K2 droid’s design, but they also saw many ways to improve the blueprint of the K2 and make a superior robot. Of the twenty-eight remaining droids they used half for spare parts to repair the half that was in better shape. Then they built prototype after prototype from the fourteen remaining droids each a step up from the one before. The chief mechanical engineer was an extraordinarily gifted thinker even by Verpine standards and was strong in the Force. T8-K2 represents the final stage of engineering to redesign the K2 droid series into a newly improved model. He became the personal property of the lead designer and he stayed by his side until the day he died. T8-K2 is a gifted engineer and mechanic in his own right thanks in no small part to significant upgrades and a highly advanced heuristic processor for his brain. The droid’s primary purpose was to serve as an assistant to Zax his master and help to pilot the small vessel he traveled in while he was meditating or in the rare instances he was operating his weapon turrets in combat. In addition the droid was to always maintain the starships systems and assist in any mechanical undertakings Zax needed help with. There was one goal that Zax always seemed to have before all others and that was to locate Jedi and Sith holocrons and make sure the knowledge was either destroyed (in the case of Sith holocrons) or cataloged and added to the Jedi archive for future study. Zax seemed to operate outside the influence of the Jedi council though he was sympathetic to its causes and against the efforts and actions of the Sith. Zax was a free thinker if ever there was one. His power with the Force was a gift that made him unique among his race but the way his race viewed most other species and communicated to one another made it difficult to assimilate with other Jedi. Zax had originally been trained as a Jedi and retained the knowledge and wisdom he learned, but eventually separated from the Order to pursue his own goals. T8-K2 led a quiet life for many years as they journeyed from one desolate moon or planet to the next in search of Jedi secrets. On one such journey they encountered a secret Sith temple. Zax initially believed the temple was abandoned and carefully explored the temple and searched out Sith knowledge that could be researched and destroyed. Zax had archived great sums of knowledge both about the Jedi and the Sith and he was keenly in tune with the past, present, and future and the flow of the force, but he was not gifted with a lightsaber or combat in general. Unfortunately the temple was so tainted with the dark side that Zax was blinded by it and unable to sense a student still alive and well within the temple grounds. While collecting holocrons from the Sith temple archives Zax was flanked and left with no alternative but to fight. T8-K2 was present and saw the Sith before Zax did. He warned his master in time for Zax to ignite his silver bladed lightsaber and stop the initial onslaught but Zax was overwhelmed by the Sith master’s skill with a blade. T8-K2 managed to help assist his master in combat but a droid is no match for a Sith master. The red lightsaber blade sliced deep into T8’s outer plating and crippled the droid. With limited power and a serious system malfunction the droid was forced to shut down. When backup power was rerouted internally the droid’s visual sensors were activated… Zax laid dead, its left arm and left foot severed and a single burn hole in the center of head right between its eyes visible. In his right hand most of the lightsaber hilt was still present but the top just above where the blade emanated was cut cleanly. T8 repaired some of his most basic systems and rerouted his mobility subroutines so he could move again. He struggled back to the ship only to find it in near ruins. T8-K2 quickly jury-rigged the vessel back into minimal working order. He created a basic stretcher lift and moved Zax’s remains onto the stretcher. Quickly he moved the remains back onto the ship and left the planet before the Sith master returned. Unfortunately as the ship leapt into hyperspace the extent of the damage done to the ship won out over the haphazardly made repairs, and the starship veered off course and fell out of hyperspace into the gravity well of a small moon. T8-K2 was unable to repair the ship before it was drawn in by the moons gravity, but with a little luck T8 was able to crash the ship without losing his own life. Unfortunately the starship was not space worthy after that and couldn’t be repaired enough to leave the moon. T8-K2 constructed a boosted comm. system and used it to send a signal toward the inner core systems in the hopes that eventually he would be rescued from the moon. Eventually help did come a Jedi had by the name of Mical discovered his signal and rescued him from the moon’s surface. T8-K2 gave his master’s blade to Mical in memory of his old master, Zax. Mical kept T8-K2 at his side as he seemed to enjoy the engineering feat of T8-K2’s creation and appreciated a well made droid.

Chase was born on the adopted homeworld of the Miraluka, Alpheridies, a grand agriculturally based world, a peaceful, quiet, dull place. His homeworld aggravated him to no end; Chase desired more than the simple farming life that he was born into. So, when a Jedi representative came to the Alpheridies to make his annual search for anybody wanting to come to the Academy, Chase jumped at the chance to leave, and the Jedi, a Zabrak Knight by the name of Bao-Dur, was quick to accept the eager boy; few of the entirely Force Sensitive species chose to become members of the Jedi Order after the complete destruction of Katarr by Darth Nihilus.
Chase was immediately enthralled with the Jedi Order, the advanced technology of Coruscant unlike anything he had ever seen on Alpheridies, the species of the Order unlike any other people he had ever seen, and the world's out there in the galaxy so unlike his own. He devoted himself entirely to his studies, diving into datapackets on all types of subjects from all over the galaxy, as well as fully into his study of the Force. He was shaping up to be a great Jedi Consular in the Order. When his test for the rank of Padawan finally came, he passed with honors and received his green lightsaber as a badge of his station among the Consulars. His master now is the same Knight who found him on Alpheridies, Bao-Dur, a Guardian of some skill and an engineer of even more. Bao-Dur has been his mentor since his first days at the Academy, and is now one of his closest friends. Bao-Dur's own love of technology has expressed itself in Chase as well, and it is thought that Chase will follow in his mentor's path and become an an engineer of some skill.
Chase's constant search for knowledge has made him noticed as one of the more outgoing Padawans at the Academy, as he is constantly prying into other people's business and affairs, always speaking up with a quip of random trivia or fact about this system or that species, or simply trying to mediate between parties even when mediation may not be needed. Bao-Dur has often spoken to him about being more mindful of other's privacy and business, but the lesson has yet to hit Chase fully.
Chase stands at a healthy 6' high, weighing at 160 lbs. He has short dirty blond hair and he wears an emerald green bandanna over his vestigial white orb eyeballs. He dresses in well fitting clothes, on the more fashionable side, often in blacks, greens, and browns. He wears his blaster on his left hip and his lightsaber on his right, its design simple with black venting inlaid grip. The pouches on his belt are always filled with something or another, whether it be a datapad, medical supplies, a piece of technology he is currently dissecting, skipping stones to levitate while bored, voxboxes of languages he has yet to master, or a pazaak deck.
Sheet posted, once we all are all accounted for we can get this thing started.
Chase Lakei stands at the bridge of the Silver Dawn, gazing out sightlessly at the planet below. He can see the planet in nearly the same way as the rest of the crew can, although his sightless eyes allow him to see so much more. The planet below him glows in the pure bristling energy of the Force, life itself. From this distance he can make out the glow of the planet standing in stark contrast against the blackness, the lifelessness, of space. Up close and personal to the planet's surface the light gets drowned out by the shadows of buildings and technology, things that are a part of the Force and outside of it as well. The planet is a marvel to behold, something so pure, to his Miralukan eyes, something so like the former planet of his people, Katarr, now stripped of all life by the Sith Lord Nihilus. This sight almost brings tears to his pupil-less eyes every time he gazes out upon it.
Turning away from the sight of planet below him, Chase adjusts his blindfold over his blank orbs, wiping away the wetness there at the same time. He has a job to do, a mission that has brought him to this system: Pirates. From what he had heard so far, the space pirates in the sector have made transports coming to and from the planet their targets, keeping the Onderonians from rebuilding their life there after the onslaught of the Mandalorian Wars, the Jedi Civil War, and the Great Sith War. This was a mission he had accepted gladly, to help those being overrun by the scum and villainy of the galaxy. That, and Onderon was a bastion of new technology in the Galaxy, a place his Master Bao-Dur would appreciate greatly.
Pulling his green vest closer around himself Chase moves farther away from the bridge's window, farther away from the coldness of space. He had been on starships before, but he had never quite gotten used to the coldness of life outside of an atmosphere. His tight black body suit provided very little insulation against the cold, and his green vest, gloves, belt, and boots adding only a tidbit more to the ensemble. "So, when are we going to land this bird? It is as cold up here as a bastard's heart."
Torin Dol Gender and Race: Male Duros Size and Type: Medium Height and Weight: 1.87 m, 73 kg Age: 37 (Adult) Class: Jedi 1 Dark Side points: 0 Experience: 0/1000
Torin Dol is a quite ordinary Durosian, except for the fact that he is a jedi, and this is something that he is aware of and has made use of many times. He stands little above average height, but has a slim body, which makes him look a bit frail, something he has in common whith many of his species. The Durosians skin is azure blue, and his eyes have a light blue hue. When Torin Dol speaks it is mostly with a low and calm voice, something many of the more distracted beeings in the universe finds annoying, but most agree that it is something in it that makes you stop and listen. Earlier in his life Torin Dol used to wear a pilot suit rather than the traditional clothing of a jedi, but as he has grown, he has changed attitude. Over the jedi robe, he wears a dark blue cloak, and around his waist hangs a worn utility belt and a lightsaber. The lighsaber Torin Dol carries is not the one that he recieved during his training as a padawan, which was destroyed in a fight against Sith assassins on Nar Shadaa, instead he uses the lightsaber of the assassin that tried to kill him. The handle is black with metallic details, and the blade can only be activated by a force user, since it requires the manipulation of a switch inside the handle.
Many finds Torin Dol to be a bit complicated, since he didn't recive the formal training in one of the jedi academies, but rather he was trained by different jedi, during the time of the mandalorian war and the Second Sith war, and because of that he views the world different than most jedi and he acts accordingly. Many finds the Durosian taciturn, and he rarely speaks just to fill out a minute of silence, but he always offer advices and opinions when he feels that they are welcomed. He prefers to avoid hostilites as far as possible, but he understands that sometimes violence is necessary to solve certain problems. If forced into combat the jedi often tries to disarm the opponent that he deems the most dangerous with the hepl of the force, then deals with any remaining enemies with a combination of powers and his lightsaber.
The story of Torin Dol begun on the planet Duro, during the Mandalorian Wars. As the Mandalorians entered the star system, Torin Dols father understood that the planet was about to be attacked, and probably crushed under the superiour forces of the attackers. He therefore ensured a place for his young son on a small freighter that was about to leave for Coruscant, the ship however was intecepted by the republic fleet on it's way and the entire crew was taken onboard the starship that also was the temporary home for Revan, the leader of the Jedi forces that opposed the Mandalorians.
As Revan and his fellow jedi interrogated the crew, to make sure that they were no spies, the jedi knight found himself standing eye to eye with a young Duros, and he was surprised when he discovered that the boy seemed to be strong in the force. Revan quickly decided not to send the boy back to Coruscant, since he was too old to be accepted by the jedi council, instead he took it upon himself and his comrades to train Torin Dol. Revan had by that time already been appointed commander of a large part of the republic fleet, and he didn't have much time to spend on the training of Torin Dol. However, Revan soon discovered that the Duros quickly began to mimic the way that Revan and the other jedi acted and spoke. Torin Dol quickly developed his ability to use the force, and was soon at the same level as the younglings that had trained in the temple their entire life. Though Torin Dol lacked one thing that the younglings had, understanding of what it meant to be a jedi. Since he only took after his teachers, he never really understood why they did take certain actions, and after little more than a year, Revan decides that Torin Dol have to be sent to Dantooine to learn the history and philosophy of the Jedi Order. The youngling leaved Revan shortly before the battle of Malachor V and the end of the Mandalorian War.
Finally on Dantoine the council hesitantly accepted him into the ranks of the younglings, but soon they found out that the Dorus seemed to have a natural understanding of the principles of the Jedi Order. Unfortunately he didn't recive much training before Revan returned as a dark lord of the Sith, the revelation that his former mentor and teacher had turned to the dark side threw the youngling into a deep depression. It took almost a year before Torin Dol was considered ready to continue his training, and he had lost much of his former energy when he finally returned to the rest of the class. His teachers, however, soon all agreed that it was time for Torin Dol to become a padawan and learn from a master, and they all hoped that this would give the Duros the chance to leave the memories of Revan behind. The capture of Revan and the attack on Dantooine ruined these plans since the academy was ruined and the jedi was forced to flee from the destruction.
Torin Dol narrowly escaped the destruction together with a newly appointed jedi knight and they both fled towards Nar Shadda where they tried to come into contact with the remains of the jedi order. But before they managed to find any help a small group of sith assassins found them and in the battle, the knight fell when defending Torin Dol. Torin survived however, and with the Sith lightsaber that had killed his friend in his hand he managed to escape from Nar Shadaa onboard the freighter ship Silver Stream, where he recived work as a pilot and there he remained for the duration of the First Jedi Purge. Thanks to his natural abilities as a pilot he managed to survive without having to use his force abilities and because of that he manages to avoid discovery from both Jedi and Sith. After the appearance of the Exile and the end of the Purge, Torin Dol returned to Dantooine to help rebuild the academy and the Jedi Order.
