Since Axis & Allies Miniatures game and support seems to slowly dying, does anyone consider another WWII miniatures game. I've sometimes look at "Flames of war" but unless being rich, this game is not affordable.
Anyone here is worried about the future of Axis & Allies Miniatures?

A better question might be: who isn't at least a little worried? The word right now is, we'll see at least one more set that'll come out May 2012-ish. I've looked at FoW too, and come to much the same conclusion: it costs alot and then you have to paint everything! I don't know there's really another "miniatures" game out there for WWII. There are lots of boardgames. I'm not quite sure where games like Memoir '44 or Tide of Iron might fall. They use miniatures of a sort, but when is it a game piece and when is it a miniature? For the foreseeable future I'll be playing AAM. If they cancel the line tomorrow or next year or five years from now, I'll still be playing AAM for years to come. If you're worried about the silence on the forum. This always happens between sets. In addition, this forum has been attacked by a troll numerous times in the last couple months to the point where a lot of us just don't want to post anymore. It's no fun when everytime you put something up, the troll starts flaming you. I'm not quite sure why WOTC hasn't done more to stop it. This forum was doing really, really well about 5 months ago. It seems like WOTC would want people on their forum talking about AAM. What do I know?

You should take a look at Pocket Armies: Red Storm which is coming out in March 2012. It will offer pre-painted miniatures that are higher quality than Axis & Allies Miniatures or Flames of War. The rules are 100% compatible with A&A minis because it is hex based and the scale isn't too far off so you can use your existing maps/terrain and minis collection. You can also read more about it on the BGG Page.

There are quite a few other WW2 miniatures games out there that are compatible with A&A minis. FoW takes a more substantial up-front investment than many. You can find plenty of others with a few minutes of web searching; several are even available as free downloads. A friend of mine is offering a playtest version of Fireball Forward; as of now it's infantry only, but eventually he'll work in vehicles, too.
The thing is, even if the AAM product line were to be discontinued (and I'm not saying that it is), that's no reason to stop playing AAM. Once you have the pieces and maps, you can keep playing the game forever. If you enjoy it, why stop?

I agree with that, I won't stop playing a game because the production stop, but I still prefere to invest and playing a game that still live and evolved with new units. new rules, new scenarios, and more.
Just like WotC did with Magic. If they stoped the production after Alpha/Beta set, I don't think MtG would be one the most popular game in the world.
For sure a WWII miniature game has a major limitations because it have to respect the historical fact.
Anyway, I still buy AAM stuffs and still planning to build a 3D terrain (just like warhammer) but I'm still disapointed to see to that the next set, wich supose to be "a late war" set, could never see the light of the day

I for one will be playing this game for a long time.
