Hey Michael,
Just checking back to see how your game worked out for you.
GW
hi AH_Grenzewolf
it's been some time, but i finally acquired the game i want it as a present for my son, so i opened it up earlier to see what's in there i have to say i was dissapointed, because i picked a copy with the warped tiles when i say warped, i mean that the figures barely stand on them anyway, i provided my mailing information to the wizard's customer service i'll let you know what happened
kindest regards
Michael

Arrg, sorry to hear that. Mine arnt near that bad. See if you can't give them a gentle opposite bend so its playable till your replacements come in. You and the Boy will have a blast with the game. Try to get at least a third person to play. It makes the "traitor" event more suspenseful.

i have to say the game is really exciting we had so much fun and laughter 4 people played the game, 2 adults and 2 children and nobody got bored and mind that we did not even know all of the rules yet
regarding the tiles because of their warping, you can't adjust right one next to the other especially whenever the kids where moving their characters around, we always had to readjust the tiles...
the next game will be hopefully played with the replacements...

I knew you would like it. Good to hear.
Most of our games of Betryal have been right on the living room floor. The carpet is more forgiving of the tiles by stabalising them. But then the cats think they can play to.
Side note: My son whom I think was only 9 or 10 at the time we got Betrayal, actualy found the old Vincent Price movie and we watched it together. He loved it and easily understood how the premiss worked into the game.
So what mystery was your first Michael?

actually, recently we saw the haunting, early 60s movie we had a thrill watching it the atmosphere of that movie is what i hoped to bring on the table with that game and Betrayal does that in a very fun way
you know when you play with kids 1st) they don't want to be the bad guy (at least not in the 1st adventure) 2nd) they dont want their hero to get killed in the game so i had to play the role of some ceasar-lunatic (although my son should be the traitor) but i had NEVER expected to play such a role thumbs up to the guy who had this crazy idea this unpredictable thing was the key feature for myself to enjoy the game

Spot on. My son didn't like the idea of being the heavy the first couple games either. But when we added some new players he relished the chance to role play the traitor.
It great how basicly a board game with a few paragraphs of plot and narative can draw you in.
So far each story has brought very unique elements into the game that keep things fresh and suspenseful.

I fortunately recieved a printing of the game where the tiles were fine (yay) but I did want to see if there were any replacement clips available that were maybe a bit more functional?
Most of ours fall right off and the few that will sort of grip the character cards won't stay in place.
I do have one leaning figure as well, but she's kind of grown on my game night group as-is, so I would only ask for a replacement of her if I was also going to get clips, and possibly not even then (might keep the replacement as backup, if possible).
Thanks in advance!

Wombatish,
The tile clips are a bit loose. I crimped mine gently with pliers in hot water.
Also, if you dip the figures in very hot water to shape then cool in very cold water they will hold the proper position.
