Definition of Attacks

[INDENT] The definition of 'an attack' has been expanded --

Definition of Blast

[INDENT]The definition of Blast has been altered slightly --

Blast (special ability): When a unit with this ability attacks, it makes a separate attack against each Soldier and Vehicle in the target hex. Friendly Soldiers and Vehicles -- as well as boarded units and units with the Camouflaged and Superior Camouflage special abilities -- in the hex are also affected. Roll your attacks against each unit separately. If the targets are in defensive terrain, cover rolls are made for them separately. A unit with this ability uses it even when making defensive fire attacks.

Obstacle Limits

[INDENT]Obstacles count against both your army's 100-point limit and its 15-unit limit.

Definition of Transport

[INDENT]The definition of the Transport ability has changed. The new text for Transport is:

Transport (special ability):
Quote:
A Vehicle with this ability can carry a Soldier. A Soldier in the same hex as this Vehicle can use its move in the movement phase to "board" it, and a Soldier that starts its movement phase boarded can use its move in the movement phase to "dismount" it. For example, on one turn, a transport Vehicle could move into a Soldier’s hex and the Soldier could board it. Then, on the next turn, the Vehicle could move, and then the Soldier could dismount. While a unit is boarded, it can’t attack. A boarded unit can’t be attacked. Any abilities that affect "each" unit in a hex, will affect boarded units.

A Soldier with speed 0 can board and dismount a unit with the Transport ability. A Soldier that "can’t move" because of a special ability can dismount a unit with the Transport ability.

If the transport Vehicle is destroyed, any Soldier on it is destroyed too. If the transport Vehicle is disrupted or damaged, any Soldier on it is unaffected.

You can start the game with a Soldier already mounted on a transport Vehicle.

A unit on a transport Vehicle doesn’t count against the stacking limit. If dismounting a unit would break the stacking limit or leave it in terrain it could normally not enter, then you may place that unit in any adjacent legal hex that contains no enemies. In this case, if there are no adjacent legal hexes that contain no enemies, then that unit may not dismount.

Transport Vehicles can’t carry Soldiers with the subtypes of "Artillery", "Motorcycle" or "Cavalry."

Angriff/Banzai

[INDENT]The Angriff and Banzai Charge abilities have received errata. The new text for these abilities (which are identical in all but name) is:

Angriff/Banzai: In your assault phase, friendly non-disrupted non-Artillery Soldiers adjacent to this unit can move into an adjacent hex and attack an enemy Soldier or Vehicle in that hex. They get +1 on each attack die for that attack.
This makes several changes to the Angriff ability. Now, only non-disrupted, non Artillery Soldiers can make a charge with the Angriff or Banzia Charge ability. A charging Soldier now moves into an adjacent hex to attack, not any hex within its maximum movement range. A charging Soldier can’t attack an Aircraft using this ability.

This change affects two units:

Wehrmacht Oberleutnant (Set II 35/45)
Imperial Sergeant (Base Set 45/48)

Fighting Platform

[INDENT]The Fighting Platform ability has received errata. The new text for the Fighting Platform ability is:

Fighting Platform: A Soldier carried by this unit can attack during your assault phase if this unit doesn't move during that phase. A Soldier carried by this unit can make defensive-fire attacks.
Soldiers boarded on units with the Fighting Platform special ability can now make defensive-fire attacks.

Flamethrower

[INDENT]The Flamethrower ability has received errata. The new text for the Flamethrower ability is:

This change makes the Flamethrower ability not affect Aircraft.

Tally-Ho!

[INDENT]The Tally-Ho! ability has received errata. The new text for the Tally-Ho! ability is:

Tally-Ho!: In your movement phase, friendly non-Artillery Soldiers that start their move adjacent to this unit get +1 speed.
The speed bonus now doesn’t apply to Soldiers with the Artillery subtype. Inspiring Hero is printed with the new wording, which replaces the wording on Inspiring Lieutenant.

This change affects two units:
Inspiring Lieutenant (Base Set 11/48)

Open Back

Minefield

[INDENT]The wording of the Minefield special ability has been clarified.

Quote:
Minefield -- Whenever a unit enters a hex containing this Obstacle, or ends its movement phase or assault phase in a hex containing this Obstacle, the unit's controller rolls a die. On a 3 or less, put a face-up Disrupted counter on that unit.
This clarifies that a roll for disruption happens only at the end of the Movement and Assault phases but not the Initiative, Flight, Airstrike, Casualty, or End of Turn phases.[/INDENT]

Hero Limits

[INDENT]In standard 100-point games (including DCI constructed play at 100, 150, and 200 points), Heroes are limited to one per army, as delineated here.

In DCI limited (80-point sealed) play, no cap is placed on Heroes.

Note that this restriction applies to games played under the revised Advanced Rules. The variant Expanded Rules have a different limit for Heroes, as set out under Special Units (page 15).[/INDENT]

The Terrain Effects Chart from the North Africa 1940-1943 map pack contains some confusing errors. Download the corrected version here.

This is a comprehensive TEC incorporating all the official terrain types (but not those published only in Combat Zone kits).
