I've just received word that I hope will please many posters here.

A&A 50th Anniversary Edition WILL be getting a reprint.

Now, I don't know when (tomorrow? GenCon next year? Christmas this year?) but it's been given a green light all the same.

I'd like to think this is largely due to you guys voicing your concerns and love of the game and this version in particular that's brought this decision to bear.

So go on, give yourselves a pat on the back - and let the speculation for "when" begin. :)

wow! incredible.

Now just make some forum changes and hype up AA42 on the front page and the world will be a better place.

This is great news! I guess AH saw how much Anniversary Edition games were selling for on ebay. When there's that much profit to be made, it's time for a reprint!

YAY!
Perhaps they can balance the NOs before they release it again.

If you feel there are issues with the game that need to be addressed (especially from a balance/playability standpoint) I'd strongly encourage you to let them know via Customer Service - especially now that we know we have a window of opportunity before a reprint actually gets printed.

That's excellent news. For those who already forked out the cash and own it, I'd be interested in buying an updated manual... with the errata modifications and the two rules included that balance it (Dardanelles Closed to Sea Movement & Fighter Escorts and Interceptors). ;)

I hope this can be the beginning of more Axis and Allies games coming on a continual basis. (Let's keep Larry empolyed!) Its a victory for strategic boardgames all around- which don't get the attention they deserve even with the great demand for them. The petetion on all the websites proved the WORLDWIDE demand for AA and all strategic boardgames.

Let's not stop here but make a claim for all AA games and historical strategic boardgames by filling out the survey at AH- VERY IMPORTANT- don't complain- voice your opinion.:)

Here's the link:

And thanks to Wolf Start, AHfilter, Von M and some very understanding people working for WOTC directly and indirectly! Also thanks to all who participated and made this happen.:)

Also, we all would like to know when a new AAEurope/Pacific, AAStalingrad, AAIwoJima, AAWW1 are coming out???:P

:) :) :)

Did this yesterday. I asked:

Whether the new sculpts from AA42 would be included.

Whether the instructions would be updated with the FAQ info.

Whether there could be a redesign of a locking type system for the board

A few added optional rules for balance purposes already playtested by players on several sites.

:)
I'm supposed to get a response within a couple of days but we'll see:P

Whether it's a new and improved AA50 or a re-release, I'll just be happy to see it out there. Even with the tuning up stuff to do, there's no doubt AA50 is The Game and the ultimate evolution of Larry Harris's designs. If he tops AA50, believe me, I'll buy it but I don't think we'll see that reaching for the next level for a very long time. By then we'll be having the Vichy French, the Spanish Blue Division, the Brazilians in Italy and the Mexican Air Force in the Philippines...LOL!
