Upcoming Scenarios

Hi guys, as you've no doubt seen, we've been busy generating Opening Salvos for the North Africa set, as well as launching an FAQ and news about the Map Guide.

In the coming weeks, however, I'll be preparing somewhere in the neighborhood of eight scenarios specifically designed for the North African Campaign. The first couple will be available the day the set is released so you immediately have something to play.

But this is only the beginning.

More North Africa scenarios will debut over the course of the Spring, followed by a cluster of War at Sea scenarios and, if all goes well, an all-new campaign. The campaign will feature naval battles and land battles. Of course, will still throw in the one-shot land scenarios. You can't have too many of those.

Then there's Task Force. Like North Africa, we'll be launching a lot of scenarios featuring the new vessels and, of course, units from the first set. The first of these scenarios will debut the day Task Force is released.

By the time we reach the end of the aforementioned campaign, and run through several of the Task Force scenarios, we won't be far from the release of Eastern Front. Again, you'll see Opening Salvos, followed by a bevy of Eastern Front scenarios.

It should be fun.

We're also planning to refurbish Combat Zone. Yes, it does indeed needs a day of beauty at the spa.

Cheers!

If you are going to update Combat Zone please consider applying costs to the tiles. Currently the tiles are nice to add to a map; however, they are only limited in collectiblity due to not being legal in a build.

It would be very nice to have an option to add 3 clear hex tiles to an army for a cost of 15points or some such. You'd be surprised what an extra hex of craters or a road extension would do for the game. Battle plans lasted right up until the first shot was fired. Having the ability to manipulate the game field would be a dramatic expansion of the game.

to best handle the tiles as part of a regular game, AH might want to make them legal ONLY while using Expanded Rules.

Speaking of Expanded rules: Could I recommend a mid-summer revision of the Expanded Rule Set? Updated with previously published Scenarios, 1 or 2 punch out copies of all tiles released in that years Combat Zones, the new Platoons added for those sets so far (and as a sales incentive, maybe ones for the very next upcoming set). Extras like a punch card for the little wilds like "Headshot", "Armor Piercing Rounds", and "overwatch".

Kind regards,
Colonel Coo

1 Question--will there be any new formations to come out with the new NA set?

A few requests regarding the campaign:

* Could it start in 1939, please?

* Could we have some weather effects ( desert, Russian winter, mud etc.) introduced in certain battles?

* Some restrictions in which maps and/or units are allowed for a specific theatre ( no " Tiger Heaven" in Pacific, no hilly Ukraine, No Heavy tanks in Pacific etc.)

In the last couple of CZ kits, there were no CZ scenarios. Instead, there was a reference to CZ scenarios being posted online from now on, though nothing had happened yet. I've been rattling that cage for a couple of months now, so its good that they will finally do that. :)

P.S. Grenzewolf; I've been handing out T-34's, PZIVF2's, Shermans, Mountain Tiles and Shellhole Tiles the last several weeks. (New scale, of course.) You're missing out! If you want any, you'll have to show up to get them! :cookie:
